Use Your Illusion Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 My bad. Reported in the SD Spoilers Thread. Check that out for all the info.
Papacita Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 I don't read spoilers, but this thing about Kurt's sister has me curious. Was she sick or something, or was it something out of the blue?

Was she sick or something, or was it something out of the blue? She was the sister that was suffering through a condition known as angina, which you may remember Kurt did a few commercial spots supporting research for.

Thanks for clearing things up. That's sad to hear and hope Kurt's doing ok.
Silence Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 She was the sister that was suffering through a condition known as angina, which you may remember Kurt did a few commercial spots supporting research for. That's probably why he did the commercial, because a family member of his had the disease.

I think his entire family has a history of that. He mentions it in his book somewhere. I'd assume that was the cause of his father's death at a young age. Edited September 18, 2003 by bravesfan

NYU Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 No. In his book, Kurt says his father fell 15 feet off of a crane and on top of his head. So while his sister may have died of angina, his father definitely didn't.
Guest Choken One Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 WHAT? I could sworn his father passed away in his sleep on the couch?
art_vandelay Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 Angle's Sister Passes Away..., As well as *SPOILERS* for SD! How sensitive of you... I love the "As well as *SPOILERS* for SD!" part the most. Very touching.
NYU Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 WHAT? I could sworn his father passed away in his sleep on the couch? If I remember correctly, his father would have heart-attacks while he slept. He would cry out, but keep tossing and turning, and enduring all the pain. Finally, after a while, the heartattack pain would weaken and he would fall back asleep. This happened a couple of times, but Angle's dad refused to get it checked out.
NYU Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 There. Found the excerpt: "My dad never hesitated to discipline my brothers, even when they were in high school. Big as he was, he seemed invincible to me. They did an autopsy on him after he died and they said he lived through two heart attacks in his sleep that he never even knew he had. I do remember one, I think - a night when he seemed to be flipping out on the couch. He fell onto the floor, holding his chest. Of course he has been drinking, and I thought he was just drunk. He just got up, got back on the couch, and went to sleep - never said a word to anyone about it. My dad never went to the hospital for anything, until he fell off his crane that day. "He was fifty-five years old at the time, building the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. He was leaning on the gate, preparing to get into his crane, when the gate gave way, and he fell fifteen feet backward, landing on his head in a ditch. He got knocked out for a few minutes. Later, we learned he cracked his skull in three different places and broke both of his shoulders. Yet he was so tough, he got up from that and walked to the hospital by himself. And they told us that all he cared about was making sure somebody called his wife and kids. Three hours later, he was in a coma." -So there ya go.
