Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Okay, I know I'm the chief troll in boycott threads. They don't work, yadda yadda yadda. But I've become so fed up with this company I'm considering organizing one myself. In A Nutshell: I'm planning to avoid watching/buying, or anything related to WWE (other than posting here) should Goldberg win the title at Unforgiven. But... What if we all did this? Basically, what it boils down to is this: Watch RAW/SmackDown if you want. If you can withstand the torture of seeing the two apes with the big winning streaks and equally big egos running around with the belts. Obviously, boycotting the television show does very little as I'm sure none of us here are working for Nielsen and the others who organize the ratings every week. But don't buy shirts. Don't buy the video games, even though they've been shipping some new ones recently. Don't go to the show. Don't buy the PPVs. Just refuse to give them your money or (if you can find something else to do) your attention until Goldberg jobs the title to somebody else. I'm thinking of writing a feedback email to WWE.com the night of every televised Raw show or PPV to WWE.com with the same letter about why I'm writing, what I'm doing, why Goldberg shouldn't have that belt and should put it on anybody else. Think about it. Together, through peaceful harassment, we can make this joke's title career a short one.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Have they ever worked in the past? What is this TSM boycott #4?
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Yes but those boycotts called for way too much. People aren't going to stop watching the shows if they got nothing else to do with their time, and unless you're a Neilsen family it doesn't really matter. I don't see what would be so hard about sending a copy and paste letter with your name at the bottom every Monday night.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 HHH will be champ next month so don't worry.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Errr so what should happen...Triple H hold the title while he's off t.v. for almost two months? Oh and let me add...you people continue to give the "World Title" waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much credit. It isn't the World title....the one on Smackdown is. Seriously who gives a shit if Goldberg holds the #2 title in the company? I don't give a shit HHH has it I'd just like to see him do some jobs every once in a while. dubq 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Watch RAW/SmackDown if you want. If you can withstand the torture of seeing the two apes with the big winning streaks and equally big egos running around with the belts. Lesnar has a winning streak? Could've fooled me. Hasn't he jobbed like fifty times in a row. Weren't people just complaining last week that it was killing his monster character? Weren't people also complaining about Triple H probably not dropping the title to Goldberg due to the G-Man getting the last laugh on RAW? Seriously, who gives a flying fuck whether or not Goldberg has the World title? Everyone has gone on and on and ON about how that title is worth nothing anyways. Why do you care so much? Personally, I'd rather see Triple H retain.. but then again this is wrestling. Who cares??? If Goldberg wins, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I'm not going to be an over-zealous fanboy and write letters to WWE complaining about it.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Errr so what should happen...Triple H hold the title while he's off t.v. for almost two months? I don't care if he jobs it to Rodney Mack on Raw. I just refuse to play along while Goldberg has the belt. We have 3200 registered members Jesus. If I had the help of HALF the people on this board we could probably cut it down to 2 weeks.
Detective Comics 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 I must agree. If Goldberg wins, maybe something new or interesting could come out of it. I would be interested to see who he would fued with, at least. HHH is my favorite RAW champion since they brought the belt back, but I could live with Goldberg as champ. Guest Goodear Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Watch RAW/SmackDown if you want. Obviously, boycotting the television show does very little as I'm sure none of us here are working for Nielsen and the others who organize the ratings every week. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Look it seems to me like you're talking about Lesnar as well as Goldberg here and I just have to say I am so not seeing where the problem is with him. Lesnar seemingly only has the normal amount of ego of a pro athlete and jobs all the time to people cleanly including Angle, Undertaker and The Big Show. Maybe I'm missing something but what has Brock done to deserve a boycott. And while we are on the subject, what's Goldberg done in the WWE that has been so god aweful? He's already gotten the wrong end of the beatdown a bunch of times and lost in The Elimination Chamber. Where's the beef coming from here and why should I boycott him rather than Triple H? Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Lesnar has a winning streak? Could've fooled me. He did during his God Push, and ask anybody what they think of when they think of Lesnar and that's what they tell you. Weren't people just complaining last week that it was killing his monster character? I'd rather watch Lesnar every day of the week and twice on Sundays than Goldberg, but Spoiler (Highlight to Read): giving both guys a world title at the same time seems to be a sign of severe lazyness Weren't people also complaining about Triple H probably not dropping the title to Goldberg due to the G-Man getting the last laugh on RAW?If they were, I wasn't one of them. Seriously, who gives a flying fuck whether or not Goldberg has the World title?Because he's so fucking into himself that he'll quit before he jobs it to someone. I'm not going to be an over-zealous fanboy and write letters to WWE complaining about it.Fine. You don't have to. I'm not sure if I would either. I'm just asking the board what they think because one guy whining doesn't make much of an impression. I know a few hundred people harassing a company to make a change can make it happen. I've seen it happen before.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 the good thing to Goldberg probably winning the title is the fact they will have a face champ and that the belt will get a fresh start....and probably means HHH will be leaving us for a while... the bad thing... Its fucking Goldberg!
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Don't worry Monday Night Football already affect Raw as last week's rating went down the toilet. Raw will forver be getting 3.5 for several months to come.

He's already gotten the wrong end of the beatdown a bunch of times and lost in The Elimination Chamber. Where's the beef coming from here and why should I boycott him rather than Triple H? Well, let's see. He only ever gets over when he squashes people (and that's been proven several times now in his WWE run when they actually tried to make the guy work real matches,) his work ethic is terrible, he's injured plenty of people, he has Creative Control... I could think up a few more if you want them. EDIT: Whoops, listed injuries twice.
dubq 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Yeah, with the Blue Meanie. And look at the respect that that got the IWC when he was fired again soon afterwards. You're a fool if you think that Vince and Co. give two shits about what the IWC thinks of who they put the straps on.
Guest The Old Me Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Goldberg sucks, but he'll be gone soon enough. You can bet HHH is already planning how he gets "his" title back. And I won't stop buying their PS2 games. They rule.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Man. HHH wont be on TV for 1 month + and you wanna boycott RAW HHH is indeed the smartest person in the business...agree to lose the title, probably by DQ, to a person who people hate probably just as much, and when ratings continue to stink for the next month and a half, come back and win the belt back for the sake of the company or something.. This is almost exactly what HHH wants.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 The boycott won't work if the ratings go up even higher after Goldberg wins the title.
dubq 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 1. He did during his God Push, and ask anybody what they think of when they think of Lesnar and that's what they tell you. 2. I'd rather watch Lesnar every day of the week and twice on Sundays than Goldberg, but Spoiler (Highlight to Read): giving both guys a world title at the same time seems to be a sign of severe lazyness 1. Actually, from what I've read, anytime I've seen Lesnar's name mentioned over the past little while on this board, someone has something to say about him jobbing too much recently. His winning streak, of sorts, was well over a year ago. 2. As for the spoiler.. well, it seems to me that it goes along with the storylined feuds at the moment. If building/ending a feud is seen as laziness.....
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 besides there is too much of us anti HHH crowd that would support Goldberg as a lesser of two evils the Anti HHH Backlash would boost the ratings if there was a boycott
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 WWE should just give the Raw belt to Chris Jericho, he makes a great transition champ.

Actually, from what I've read, anytime I've seen Lesnar's name mentioned over the past little while on this board, someone has something to say about him jobbing too much recently. His winning streak, of sorts, was well over a year ago. Talkin' about common people. I've been one of the people bitching about Lesnar jobbing like crazy. It's just that this present scene seems like deja vu, much like when Raw and Smackdown had the defiant babyface and the evil owner thing going on at the same time. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 The boycott won't work if the ratings go up even higher after Goldberg wins the title. If ratings go up after Goldberg wins (which I doubt will happen) then it might delay HHH winning back the title until the Royal Rumble instead of Survivor Series. I cant see HHH not being the one to beat Goldberg either..HHH's ego will ensure that.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted September 17, 2003 I'm soooo tired of Jericho. Really. That match he had with RVD was just so sloppy and slow I couldn't stand it. Basically he's lost all of his conviction both in the ring and on the microphone. Everything he does is just a rehash of the same stuff he's been doing for years. There's never a new wrinkle and its worn me down. I'd sooner have Kane... But I'm strange.
