EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 Minnesota @ Detroit Johan Santana vs. Nate Robinson. Detroit stands at 40-118. They need to take 3 of 4 from the Minnesota Twins to avoid tying the NY Mets modern record for futility. Philadelphia @ Florida Randy Wolf vs. Brad Penny. After dropping the first two games, the Phillies need to win this game just to stay alive in the NL East. The Marlins hold a 3 game lead. Baltimore @ Boston Omar Daal vs. Derek Lowe. The Sox are on the verge of clinching the Wild Card. If they win tonight, they're in. Chicago Cubs @ Cincinnati Carlos Zambrano vs. Todd Van Poppel. The South Side of Chicago is beginning to feel it. Shawn Estes gave them a great performance yesterday. After this game, the Cubs finish out the season at home, against Pittsburgh. They're a game up on the Astros. Milwaukee @ Houston Doug Davis vs. Tim Redding. The Astros get the weakest team in the NL in their home park for the last four games of the season. If they screw this up, then they don't deserve the playoffs anyway. Los Angeles @ San Diego Hideo Nomo vs. Brian Lawrence. Still on the cusp of playoff contention. The Dodgers need every win at this point, plus alot of help from the Marlins. Games That Don't Matter Arizona @ Colorado Tampa Bay @ Toronto Chicago White Sox @ Kansas City Pittsburgh @ NY Mets A side note about these games. First off, who would've thought 2 weeks ago that Chicago/Kansas City would have no effect on the postseason. It's also amusing that this weekend, the Pirates (vs. Cubs) and the Mets (vs. Marlins) could decide everything.
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 Seriously, go Reds and Pirates. And Detroit will probably lose 3 of 4, if not all 4.
Guest ToddRoyal Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 Phillies need to win this game just to stay alive in the NL East. I think you mean the Wild Card here, as the Phils are quite a ways out of contention for the NL East. Anyway, Go Red Sox. I don't think even the Sox could blow getting into the playoffs now. *crosses fingers*
The Czech Republic Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 Chicago Cubs @ Cincinnati Carlos Zambrano vs. Todd Van Poppel. The South Side of Chicago is beginning to feel it. Yeah, feeling mighty pissed off that their team choked already while the Cubs on the north side are in contention.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 26, 2003 Author Report Posted September 26, 2003 Oops. Got my Chicago geography screwed up. That'll teach me to try and be cute.
Vern Gagne Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 Seriously, go Reds and Pirates. And Detroit will probably lose 3 of 4, if not all 4. The Tigers won. Considering the Twins don't care about this series, the Tigers might not get to a 120 losses.
