MrRant Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp...&virus_k=100719 QHosts-1. This basically hijacks your browser and changes your DNS servers. If you have issues connecting you may want to check this out. There is a fix listed on the link I posted. Note: This is NOT destructive. Just a pain in the ass. A firewall should protect you from this exploit. See the Things You Need On Your PC thread for a list of free ones.
Youth N Asia Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Thank ya Rant, I'll keep an eye out on my computer.
Guest stardust Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Yeah, my firewall picked up a new Trojan trying to get through earlier. The one that always tries is Backdoor Sub7 something or other. This one was called something else, but it was gone too quickly for me to catch the name.
MrRant Posted October 2, 2003 Author Report Posted October 2, 2003 Like I said a firewall may protect you. It's an Internet Explorer exploit (with no patch yet) so even if you get it cleaned out it may re-appear.
