Anakin Flair Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Ok, so I did something stupid. I just got a brand new motherboard and processor (Asus motehrboard, AMD XP 2400 processor), so I decided to install them into my computer tonight. what i didn't realise untill I had the old board out and I spent a half hour trying to get the damn heatsink onto the chip was that the new board is about 1/3 bigger than the old board, and thus doesn't fit. oops. anybody got any suggestions on how I can either A) make it fit or B) find a new case? thanks, Drew
MrRant Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 New case. Probably no more than $30 bucks at a computer store or even Best Buy. Don't try and "make it fit" because it sounds like you probably don't have the right power supply either.
Anakin Flair Posted October 14, 2003 Author Report Posted October 14, 2003 Yeah, I'm going to be getting a new case this week. You can get case for $30? Damn, I need to shop around more. The one I picked out coems w/ the power supply (which forgot I would ned a better one) for $100.
Guest Razor Roman Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 ebay is alway sa good place to check too... sometimes you can get one for $0.01 or $1.00 (of course the guys that sell them turn a profit on the shipping) but you can still get brand new stuff for less-than-store prices.
