This assumed that: Landon Won Bowers Won Manson Won Liston Won Royal Won Just at random, accounting for an upset here or there. Venue: Pepsi Center, Denver, Colorado! Due Date: Sunday, October 12th, 2003 Send To: Thoth Opening Promo: Manson Holy crap, all the veterans of the JL have held the damned World Title now! What does this for the brooding Manson? Well, he¡¦ll tell us in front of a massive hometown audience! #1 T.V. Title Contendership Match James Morrison vs. Daemon Well, James didn't quite get the win in the cage match, but he came damn close. But instead of facing Bowers again (And again and again and again¡K) he'll have to fight Daemon to get his shot! Match Description: Standard Match with DQs and Countouts in effect. Word Limit: 4000 Send To: Powerplay (I can mark low card stuff still ƒº) T.V. Title Match Brian Bowers vs. Craig McLennan Brian has defended the T.V. Title a lot lately and Commissioner Raynor intends for the T.V. Title to live up to its name! Craig surprised the world when he put forth a great effort on Crimson to beat Daemon. Well, we here in the SJL reward winners and what better way than with a Title shot? Match Description: Standard Match with DQs and Countouts in effect. Word Limit: 4500 Send To: Tod deKindes Tag Team Match Urban Decay 2.0 vs. Angels of Insanity Well, Dominic Korgath and Jimmy Liston have been looking for a true test of the newest incarnation of Urban Decay and on Wrath they are certainly gonna get one! Insane Luchadore was seperated from his long-awaited SJL World Title by Manson on Crimson, while Aecas lost out to newcomer Landon Maddix on the same show for another World Title Shot. Both men are likely to face off soon to decide who will get first shot at Manson, so how will that effect them tonight? United Urban Decay stands, and if they are divided the Angels of Insanity may fall to the newest force in the JL. Match Description: Standard Tag Match with DQs and Countouts in effect. And to quote Grand Slam: "USE TAG ROPES!" Word Limit: 5000 Send To: WrestlingDeacon And now for your Main Event... "Gone in 60 Seconds" Match for the European Title! Todd Royal vs. Landon Maddix vs. "Hollywood" Spike Jenkins Todd Royal put forth a Todd-like effort on Crimson against Dominic Korgath to keep his title, but he's getting thrown right back into the fire against two people this time! Landon Maddix edged out a victory against Aecas, allowing him to get another shot at Royal after losing to him at Countdown. Meanwhile, with his loss on Crimson to Jimmy Liston, Commissioner Raynor banned Spike Jenkins from any more World Title shots until he captures the European Title! Each man wants this title more than anything right now, but it won't be easy: Raynor's decided to put them in a Parking Lot Streetfight with a big twist! Match Description: All three men start in the Parking Garage across the street from the Pepsi Center. There is a gate blocking the main exit to the street. This particular lot is three stories tall (With each guy starting on a different level) and is chock full of cars because of tonight's show. The objective: find and get a stoplight red '02 Corvette out of the place. Problem is, there are three keys to winning, and each guy has only one! Car-Lock Key: This key unlocks the doors to the Vette. Ignition Key: This key starts the engine of the Corvette. Gate Key: This opens the gate that's blocking the exit to the garage The only real way to win is to extract the keys from the other two guys and use all three to get the Corvette to the street. There are only a few rules in the match 1) You have to unlock the gate; no crashing through it with the Vette. 2) You have to use the ignition key to start the Corvette; despite the name there is no hotwiring in this match. Anything other than that is completely legal. Now let's see some windshield-busting action, people! WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 In my opinion, what fucked you Judge was that main event. It's just too crazy and unwieldly, especially for your first card. It's almost saying "look at how inventive of a booker I am." Having applied last time and lost I know that the thing that sunk me was going for too many never before seen gimmick matches for the flash with little substance. I also think your descriptions were a little dry and rambling in trying to fit in all the "on our last show" stuff, especially in those last two matches. However, much like Judge I feel I overgimmicked a couple of matches, and in retrospect I feel I may have been too generous with the word limits, and that's what cost me... oh well, let's see. --- The Only SJL Show Mike Will Ever Book Venue: Verizon Wireless Arena, Manchester, New Hampshire! Due Date: 10 PM EST. Because of the late due date, there will be ABSOLUTELY NO EXTENSIONS. Commentators: William Hearford, Ejiro Fasaki and Annie Eclectic Opening Promo: Landon "La Cucaracha" Maddix (in which he would challenge Insane Luchadore for later in the night) Rebelling Against The Establishment Match Manson v. Jay Morrison - Jay Morrison has had tough luck recently, losing in consecutive matches to Brian Bowers, but coming closer and closer every time. Commissioner Raynor, however, realizes that the fans are sick of seeing Brian Bowers and Jay Morrison go at it. So tonight, Morrison gets the first big chance of his career, with a match against established superstar Manson that has the potential to rocket him up the card. Can Morrison capitalize, or will Manson put Morrison back in his place? Stipulations: Standard singles match. Word Limit: 4500 Marker: Tod deKindes Let's Play Up To Craig's Strengths In The Hopes That He'll Show Match Brian Bowers © v. Criag McLennan The SJL Television Title is On the Line - Craig McLennan has had an absolutely dismal record as of late, and is quickly turning into the second coming of Cutthroat. However, Commissioner Raynor, being the kind, caring man that he is, has decided to give McLennan a match that will hopefully light a fire under his ass. Ah-heh. Stipulations: To tie in with McLennan's pyromaniac gimmick, this match will be a flaming tables match. In order to win, one wrestlermust put the other through a flaming table. Word Limit: 4250 Marker: WrestlingDeacon Booker's Note: This match would be PMed to Maddix and IL, but not visible to people viewing the card. They would have to read the show to find out that this match was happening Insane Luchadore Must Die Match Insane Luchadore © v. "La Cucaracha" Landon Maddix The SJL World Title is NOT On the Line - Landon Maddix came out at the beginning of the show, asking for a title shot. Well, it seems Insane Luchadore was not that generous, but he did put himself on the line in this match! Can Maddix elevate himself, or will IL hit the down button? Stipulations: Straight-up singles. If Maddix wins, he'll become #2 Contender to the SJL Championship, right behind the winner of the main event. Word Limit: 5500 Marker: Kibagami Todd Damn, It's A European Title Defence Match! Todd Royal © v. Jimmy "The Demon" Liston The SJL European Title is On the Line - Todd Royal and Jimmy Liston are not friends because of one thing: the SJL European Title. It's come between many wrestlers in the past, and assuredly it's not Todd's charming personality that makes Liston dislike him, it's that Mr. Royal wears the European title around his waist. Well, Liston will get a chance to change that tonight. Can the Demon add something besides Calvinball to his career? Stipulations: Straight-up singles. Word Limit: 4750 Marker: Powerplay Hollywood And Vine Match Participants: "Hollywood" Spike Jenkins, Aecas, Dominic Korgath #1 Contendership to the SJL World Title is On the Line - The SJL has a bit of trouble with their main event scene, and this match should help to sort some of that out. Hollywood Spike Jenkins is a former SJL champion who would love to regain that gold. Aecas is a perennial contender, who would love to get one more shot at the gold that has eluded him for so long. Dominic Korgath should be fucking thankful that I'm so generous as to include him in this match, rimshot. In all seriousness, a void must be filled, and this match will be the first to help do it! Stipulations: Round Robin. In other words, Jenkins v. Aecas Jenkins v. Korgath Aecas v. Korgath. Whichever man has two falls at the end of this wins. In the event of a tie, there will be a triple threat, first fall wins. Word Limit: 7500 without the triple threat finish, 10,000 with it. WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2003 The big problem I see with your card Mike is that you just didn't book matches, but you booked storylines that you had no control over. Were you going to write Maddix and tell him to challenge IL in the opening promo? Then make sure that IL wrote a promo accepting the challenge? That is not your job, you make matches and that's all you do. You also kind of screw yourself by booking two matches for contendership rights to the World title and therefore the main event kind of cheapens the storyline you seemingly want to work with Maddix. Your word limits are also too long, but you said you knew that. In my mind, no JL match should ever be over 6000 words. The flaming tables match ties in well with McClennan's gimmick, but there's nothing to set up that match and it's a little too gory of a gimmick for the second match on what should be a standard show. Also, in the rules, you never go over how the flaming tables with be handled. Will the wrestlers have to light them themselves? And where are all the equipment they need to set the table on fire like a lighter and gasoline? With your main event, if Jenkins wins the first two matches, then there's no need for a third. If each man wins a fall apiece and it becomes a triple threat, then why not just book a triple threat in the first place. A round robin like this is horrible to write and you have to deal with a whole section of your guy not in the ring. Not bad, but you didn't think things through.
