Guest JerryDrake Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Where yall think Miguel Tejada will go? It's apparent the A's dont want him even though he is the MVP of the team. Could he be playing for Baltimore? the Mets? If he goes to the Mets he will have to play 3rd base, because they already got a good young SS, who could be their franchise player.
the max Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Don't forget that San Diego has said that they're going to be spending money, and with the new ballpark and the possibility of playing in the same area, Tejada might end up there.
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Wherever he goes, I hope they have a baserunning coach.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Well, lots of talk of him going to Baltimore but most of the people I hear say he's over rated. I personally think Tejada > Deivi Cruz but whatever.
the pinjockey Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 He goes to the Mets, with the Padres nabbing Kaz Matsui. And I do understand that the Mets have more pressing needs than a SS (or 3B, I like Wigginton), but I don't think that concerns them.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 I think the Dodgers might grab him. They're a high payroll team who DESPERATELY need any kind of decent hitting infielder.
the pinjockey Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Can they afford him now that they don't have Murdoch money backing them?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 I imagine so. Los Angeles is a big market, the Dodgers have a large fanbase, and the stadium is considered high quality. In addition, the Dodgers will clear Brian Jordan and Andy Ashby's contracts, an easy $15 million.
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 I think either the Dodgers or Mets will grab him as well, the Mets have a bit of an edge with Howe at the helm. LA could use him however, Izturis is excellent on D but the offense on that team is so weak, they could go without Izturis' glove. But then again, Tejada ain't too damn shabby himself.
Guest Choken One Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 He needs to get out of the AL. He will not get anywhere playing under Jeter, Nomar and AROD's shadow...
Vern Gagne Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Isn't San Diego planning on having Khali Green play SS next season?
Guest Gatornibs Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Tampa Bay. The probably starting lineup for TB has both Sheffield and Everett in it, Tejada could take place of either!
the pinjockey Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Ok, I am going to try and decipher that last post. In the offseason, Tampa Bay, plans on going after Gary Sheffield and Carl Everett. And you are suggesting that Tejada might be an option lieu of one of those two? Tampa going after Sheffield and Everett makes no sense considering that the three bright spots they have are all in the outfield. And, honestly, why would Tejada want to go to Tampa? It isn't like they are going to pay big money, to make up for their losing history.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Tampa needs some pitching. They have a decent enough offense to win more games if they had some better pitching.
Guest BobbyWhioux Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 He'll probably follow Billy Beane down to L.A. God Damn Dodgers...
