Ripper Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 I like Kurt Thomas though. He is a pretty good player the 5 minutes he plays before fouling everyone on the court(including the Mascot, cheerleaders and announcers) in needless acts of aggression. I can't wait till the Knicks play the Mavs so I can see who fouls out first, Fortson or Thomas.

Someone has to jump off tramplenes at half time and dunk the ball...then Kurt Thomas fouls them midshot when he is supposed to be in the locker room. I wish it was Spike Lee. Then he would have something to do writing making movies.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Spike Lee jumping off trampolines and getting fouled in mid-dunk=ratings
Vern Gagne Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Raef is pretty damn good at least judging from his tenure in Denver... Hell his career numbers! 7.1 Rebounds per Game 12.2 Points per Game 2.22 Blocks per Game Raef had 10+ PPG every single season with the exception of last season with Dallas. Same goes for 7+ RPG every season so the dude is quite capable of not only being consistent but being a solid force in the paint as well. Ranked 2nd in the NBA in Blocks and BPG in 2001-2002. In 1999-2000, ranked 8th in the NBA so he's also quite good at getting blocked shots. Those numbers aren't good enough for a Top 10 pick in the draft. Those numbers are better than most top 10 draft picks. Do we really want to compare the numbers of Sharone Wright, Acie Earl, Lindsey Hunter, Calbert Cheney, Lamond Murry, Eric Montross, Shawn Bradly,...I could do this for days. Literally. In Denver, he was hovering around the 15 point a game marker. In Dallas, 9. And lets not forget, the guy shoot 50+ percent from the field which will be a considerable step up from Walkers 38%. AND he can rebound and block shots. The Celtics do lose their floor leader and playmaker, and that will be HUGE. That is the main thing I see them having to try and overcome. So those players are worse. That doesn't mean LaFrentz has put up numbers worthy of a Top 5 pick in the draft.

My point is that he has. 12-15 per game, 8-10 boards and top 10 block numbers, while shooting at 50+ percent are VERY good numbers from a Center. If a GM in the league had a guy come from the future and GUARENTEE that a guy could put these numbers up, and spread the D the way Raef has, he would definately go top 5.
Cartman Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Celtics have not had a major shot blocker in YEARS! That is another major reason the trade was made. Also, Walker is no innocent man. He has been talkin' shit every day since the trade about the Celtics organization. Furthermore, it was mentioned in today's herald that Fatoine is in shape for the first time in his career for training camp, AND, when asked to do certain things on the court, he would do what he was told for a couple games then go back to his old shitty ways again. Paul Pierce is more of a leader on that team than Fatoine ever was.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 During the pre-season game tonight they're saying they believe they have found their McHale in Raef(aka Rape YoFriends). Its also frightening in a world is going to end kind of way to see the Celtics getting boards and somebody on our team actually blocking Garnett's shots
Cartman Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 This team looks pretty good, albeit a pre-season game an all. I'm loving Paul tonight too, nearing triple-double numbers already. Also...as of the end of the 3rd Quarter the Celts are outscoring the T-Wolves in the paint like 36-4.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 Kedrik looks pretty good tonight too
HarleyQuinn Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 Eric Williams is going solid on both ends of the floor too
