DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 Here's a match that's only 9 years old... Bret Hart vs. Bob Backlund... Bret being cornered by Bulldog, Backlund by Owen, Stu at ringside and Helen the one who throws in the towel. The only guy involved to not be dead or messed up right now is the one who isn't a Hart family member.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted October 21, 2003 bret - Stroke, retired (too young) Anvil - crack addict, wife beater, semi retired Pillman - dead Owen - dead bulldog - dead vs. Austin - crippled, retired (too young) Goldust - nearly crippled, nearly retired (too young) Shamrock - washed mmartist Animal - retired football coach Hawk - dead I think its safe to say that only Austin had any success after this match. All of the participents are pretty much out of wrestling, aside from Goldust, and have experienced bad luck down the road. Its not exactly a curse, just a sad coincidence. Celtic Jobber 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 Hawk is still unconfirmed though Yeah, but Hawk's had heart problems in the past few years, so it's almost certain to be the cause of his death.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 21, 2003 it wasn't just heart problems...it was some sort of drug addiction that caused it.

Oh and guys, Bret isn't "one step away from a vegtable"...geez. He's partially paralyzed or whatever from the stroke... I used an extreme wording in order to exemplify my point. The Kid 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 Check out www.brethart.com, there's a video on there about his recovery... I doubt a partially paralyzed man can bench press over 200.
