BlackFlagg Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Bay to produce "The Amityville Horror" remake POSTED ON 10/24/03 AT 11:30 A.M. BY JUSTIN HALL After the success of bringing back "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," Michael Bay is looking to produce another horror remake under his Plantinum Dunes label. This time, he targets "The Amityville Horror." Variety reports that MGM is keen on making another film based on the book by Jay Anson. The story was about a family in Long Island, NY who was terrorized by a haunted house. The family discovers that the previous owner of the house was a man who murdered his entire family.
Guest El Satanico Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 Damn you Micheal Bay...first his action movies which got increasingly stupid...then Pearl Harbor...now he's remaking horror movies that were already good. Damn you to hell! With that said, as long as it's handled seriously and not as cheap scares, this remake isn't that bad. However, with Bay in charge we can expect the results we got with the remake of The Haunting.
Guest Big_Jay101 Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 He did good with the TCm remake though. Not on the level of the original, but he didnt turn it into a shitty teenage slasher film.
Youth N Asia Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 I was bored enough by the original...I didn't think it was that great
Red Baron Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 never saw the original. what am I expecting from the original movie then, if i want to rent it?
Guest El Satanico Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 (edited) haunted house/demonic possesion type stuff. The original movie didn't really go into the demonic possesion stuff as much as the real story. The Amityville Horror Edited October 25, 2003 by El Satanico
