Silence 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Who do you think in WWE should or should not grow facial hair (as in a full goatee or a beard, not something like Shannon Moore, Matt Hardy, or Rey Mysterio have aka chin goatees and mutton chops) to be taken seriously? In my opinion: Should: Brock Lesnar HHH (looks like a joke without it, though I'll still hate him nonetheless) Kane (looks like Uncle Fester right now, and the eye contact and half-shaved head would hopefully help people tell the difference between him and Stone Cold) Edge (looks too much like Skeletor; I have a feeling CanadianChick is going to be pissed at me upon reading that) Chris Jericho Booker T Batista (too much of a George Clooney look-alike currently) Garrison Cade (your stereotypical clean-shaven babyface WWE rookie) Shannon Moore Maven (see Garrison Cade) Matt Hardy (he'll start to be confused with Velocity jobber Joey Matthews if he doesn't grow a full beard soon) Should not: Kurt Angle (he would get too many "Stone Cold wannabe" chants) Rey Mysterio (a new fan would confuse him for a masked heel wrestler) Paul London Spanky (people would think Kurt Cobain suddenly came back from the dead) John Cena Randy Orton (all members of Evolution except Batista should be clean-shaven, sharp-dressed wrestlers who think they're better than everyone else, even though I don't like most of them) Sorry to waste everyone's time with a post like this, but I was just bored. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 "Brock Lesnar" He tried it. Since he has blond hair, it's virtually unnoticeable, and when you do notice it, it just looks goofy. Hogan had to dye his beard as a member of the nWo, but it didn't look so bad since it matched his outfit and doo-rag anyway. Except for HHH and Jericho, who look fine witho or without, I don't think there are any on that "should" list who really should. Although I could see them giving Batista one, that would make him look more like Goldberg.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 25, 2003 HHH, in his current character isn't one to have a Beard, preppy rich jocks like HHH's current gimmick usually are clean shaven but his beard which he stole from me was PERFECT for his bad ass persona he had 99-01. Lesnar looked horrible for the two weeks he had that little peach fuzz. Kane looks fine...and would kinda hurt the character with a beard... If Edge was still the lone wolf outcast a scraggy beard would be perfect but he's not, he's now a simple beach boy. Jericho can do no wrong and he rocked the Greatest goatee in history not so long ago anyways... Booker had a Goatee once, didn't work for him... Cade should grow the beard if only to continue his uncanny resemblence to Windham Moore has to hit puberty first. Hardy had a beard for a while with the thin trim look...he should go for the thick beard ala Savage. No Way should Angle have one of course... Mysterio's goats are hardly noticeable and you never see his face anyways...
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 RavenEffect, you say HHH should have the beard, and you later go on to say everyone in Evolution except Batista should be clean shaven...which includes HHH.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 RavenEffect, you say HHH should have the beard, and you later go on to say everyone in Evolution except Batista should be clean shaven...which includes HHH. Uh...but HHH is, while a member of Evolution, also transcends it. He is the Alpha and Omega, both member and leader, yet also above that as the supreme being in WWE. He can have a beard whenever he damn well pleases. It's like the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost thing.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 I was just pointing the error out of Raven's statement. Forgive me....(Bows down a la old HHH)
Invictus 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 What about Benoit? He has the current, scraggly stubble look, but I think he could pull off a thicker beard quite well.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Benoit has had a full thick beard a few times and it's look good on him but I like the scraggy 5 o clock shadow on him more, makes him look more rugged. Just to add a spin here Which character/wrestler do you think in history was best symbolized with a beard...meaning if they never had it...wouldn't still be as defining... A) Savage's Thick Beard B) Austin's Goatee C) HHH's Heel 2000 Beard D) Goldberg E) Hogan's Mustache F) Jericho's Goatee 2002/03 G). Other (Specify)
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Hogan's painted on beard to me is totally symbolic of the "Hollywood Hogan" character, and a necessary component of it.
Invictus 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 I'd say it's a tie between Austin's goatee and Hogan's moustache. The others were forgettable for the most part, but those two stick in my mind as defining traits.
edotherocket 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Akeem's beard was pretty rocking. As was the Million Dollar Man. Has Jake Roberts ever been moustache-less?
Guest mickberna Report post Posted October 25, 2003 I personally think Austin's "crazy-bizarre-Mr.McMahon-hugging super-heel goatee" was the best beard to ever grace the WWE/F.

Silence 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 It's kind of odd that Lesnar can't grow more visible facial hair because I have blonde hair just like him, yet Jericho and I have dark brown facial hair (except Jericho this year has shaved his off every other week for some reason), excluding my mustache which is blonde with some dark spots in the middle according to whether I'm under dim light in my house or bright light outside. Then again, it might be because Jericho and I have darker tints to our hair than Lesnar does, and is it just me or can Val Venis and Test seemingly NEVER get their mustaches to show up too well anymore, or did they just slightly shave them off? Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Lesnar and Jericho should definitely stay clean shaven. Booker T can go either way. I like Edge clean shaven. Just for old time's sake, I hope Undertaker will be clean shaven one of these days before he retires.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Right now with the whole Trish angle, Jericho should be clean shaven but he can rock the beard/goat anytime he wants...Just as long as he stays away from that Jake the Snake stache he had for a couple days... AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Hogan's painted on beard to me is totally symbolic of the "Hollywood Hogan" character, and a necessary component of it. Damn right. I think Gunn would be better off with the "70's porn star 'stache" he was sporting as a Smoking Gunn. They might pair him with Venis though, if he did. If we have a villain for the Hurricane to feud with, he needs to twirl his beard/mustache eeeevilly. It's too bad Funaki might not be able to grow much facial hair, but if he can I think he'd look great with an EEEEEVIL goatee. Cole--grow the damn goatee back. You look like shit now. Right now with the whole Trish angle, Jericho should be clean shaven but he can rock the beard/goat anytime he wants...Just as long as he stays away from that Jake the Snake stache he had for a couple days... Yeah--one of the things that amazes me about Jericho is how fast his beard grows. He's so damn manly that in about a week he has a huge beard already. He's like the white Action Hank. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 All heels should have to grow facial hair so we can keep track. And if they are going to make a heel turn, they have to bring a fake beard to the ring and put it on before the turn. And Linda Miles should have to shave her facial hair off. And Triple H should be required to save his head, put on 200 pounds and make Marlon Brando jokes.
