An Idea for Revitalising the Invasion

Hmmmm, I was gonna put this in the WWE Folder, but realised I would've been bitched out violently, so here's my little idea I came out with while avoiding exam study.

 

Something about reading Loss4Words' Jericho promo kinda got me thinking about the Invasion angle for some reason. We all know what a total and utter bust the whole thing turned out to be, what with Vince refusing to let his guys look bad against their guys and more or less making what could have been the angle to end angles go totally to waste. But could this be used to breed a new angle?? Now, obviously for this to work HHH would have to take his strap back off Goldberg at SS, HA! yeah, like that was in question. But here we go.

 

The whole conspiracy-Jericho thing would be the lead role of this angle. Jericho would go off on a bitching rant that few/none of the guys that made themselves in WCW, more or less like him, have been somehow held back by an unseen power, this would obviously turn out to be a McMahon/McMahons, ever since they came to WWF. None of them getting substantial title wins and that kind of thing. Now to prevent this from turning into out and out shoot stuff they'd have to show evidence of ex-WCW guys somehow being "screwed" out of title wins/retentions by guys who established themselves in WWE/F. There would be boatloads of these examples they could use. Jericho would basically go about recruiting other ex-WCW guys and convincing them of his case by using old examples and so forth of people interfering in their matches. Vince would have to come out fairly early in the piece and admit that this was indeed the case and he's wanted to see all the ex-WCW guys suffer ever since they got here. Even having Austin perpetually one-up Bischoff could demonstrate this. Then, all of a sudden we could have a WCW faction/stable lining up against the guys who have, all-along (kayfabe), been secretly assisted by McMahon in keeping the WCW guys from success.

 

OK, as I wrote that I realised that there will be holes big enough to drive trucks through as WCW guys and WWE guys have been feuding with each other since the Invasion thing, but inconsistent plot basis has never been a problem for Vince before and it would certainly be direction for Jericho.

See, YOU know wrestling's worked. I know wrestling's worked. THEY know wrestling's worked... but you don't TREAT it as if it's worked. We saw how it worked out when Russo did it in WCW. "Unseen backstage powers" and such are all well and good on message boards, but not as part of an Invasion angle, whether or not Vince would allow it.
