Any big league sports stars from your hometown?

Recommended Posts

Well, from my HOMETOWN (Anderson, IN)

Carl Erskine

Jumpin' Johnny Wilson (former Harlem Globetrotter)

Bob Wilkerson (IU, played for a few NBA teams)

Ray Tolbert (same as Wilkerson)

Jermaine Allensworth (Brewers (?) minor league system)

Bonzi Wells grew up in Muncie and went to Ball State, which is about a half hour from me.

Zach Randolph grew up in Marion, IN. They both played basketball in my school's conference, so I still consider them local stars.

The town where I currently live can claim David Boston.

There might be others, but damned if I know who they are.

Weird question...do you live in Nac (putting two and two together with your user name)? If you do...Jeremiah Trotter graduated from SFA.

Don't live in Nac anymore. You are right though; that is where I went to college.

List of SFA grads that are/were in the NFL, off the top of my head:

Jeremiah Trotter (Washington)

Chad Stanley (Houston)

Mikhael Ricks (Detroit)

Derrick Blaylock (Kansas City)

Terrance Shaw (Oakland)

KaRon Coleman (used to be with Denver...don't know if he's in the league now)

Larry Centers (Arizona Cardinal fame)

Mike Quinn (QB...don't know if he's currently on a team's roster)

Leo Araguz (former Oakland punter)

well from my little town, the only person that was big is NHL Hall of Famer Ted Kennedy.

Around my area, there were tons of people, like, Nathan Hortan on the Florida Panthers, and Pyatt from Buffalo Sabres

Hmmm, Mark Kelso and LaVar Arrington were from my area. Had Kelso's sister for my lab teacher -- she was HOT...

Did you hit it?

In my imagination? Daily.

In real life? Hell no -- like I'm going to make any advances on a chick whose brother is a free safety in the NFL.

Although I'm glad science was my weakest subject because my buddy, Lee, and I were always the last ones to finish our experiments.

The highlight of this class was when Lee knocked over our one experiment that was on/in a bunsen burner, and the fire only got worse when he went to put it out with water. I ran across the room to get a fire blanket (not knowing there was one RIGHT BEHIND US) and the rest of the class didn't even look up. It burnt a hole clean through my notebook.

Also, the day I found out she was related to Mark was when I noticed her last name on a worksheet. I asked her if she was related to him. She grinned and said he's my brother. This was right after the Bills lost in the Super Bowl for the fourth time...

Well, there's no one from my town in Texas, but we had a couple from my real hometown in Illinois.

Brett Hull when he was a kid and his dad was still playing for the Hawks.

Mark Annelli, who was drafted by the 49'ers a couple of years ago, practice squad guy type player, of course.

And that's about it.
