Chip Minton turns Virgil inside-out with a clothesline. Reminds me of Willow's 'Bored Now' skin ripping finisher. Inside joke, don't worry about it. Kendall Windham and Scott Putski advance to the Semifinals of the tournament which if you think I am putting up brackets, you have got to be joking. I am just making this up as I go) King Kong Bundy calls Hogan bald. Hogan comes out and he says that Bundy has no room to talk. Hogan then makes King Kong Bundy face a special MYSTERY OPPONENT~! tonight in the first round of the World Title tournament. The Hulkster poses because that's what we paid to see after all. 57 First Round of the PWH Television Title Tournament: Saba Simba vs Skinner. Match Background: Simba is making his debut at this show. Skinner is making his debut at this show. The Match: Powerslam from Saba Simba on Skinner. My Opinion: Bad match which brought absolutely nothing to the table and was a waste of time. DUD. Overall:49 Crowd Reaction:45 Match Quality:54 (Tony Atlas, in a desperate attempt to find work, brings the Saba Simba gimmick to PWH. As for Steve Keirn, he hit his head and he thought it was 1992 and he was Skinner. Saba advances to the second round of the Television Title Tournament to face the winner of whoever wrestles in the next match in the tournament) PWH Interconinental Title Tournament First Round Match: Bob Backlund vs Greg Valentine. Match Background: Backlund is making his debut at this show. Valentine is making his debut at this show. The Match: Bob Backlund scores with a poor face jam on Greg Valentine. Chin crusher by Bob Backlund, the execution wasn't great though. I'd like to see a good Chin Crusher, that just sounds devastating. Ugly-looking short powerbomb by Backlund. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Bob Backlund uses an armbreaker to take Valentine down and applies an armbar. There's no quit in Valentine yet though. The reason he is not Mr. Bob Backlund is that he can't use the Chickenwing because of a reason which you will see later. ) PWH Tag Team Title Match: The Bushwhackers vs Midnight Express. Match Background: Butch is making his debut at this show. Luke is making his debut at this show. Lane is making his debut at this show. Beautiful is making his debut at this show. The Bushwhackers are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion. The Match: Beautiful hits a punch, but takes one right back. Again! A slugfest erupts in the ring! Weak bodyslam on Beautiful by Butch sets up a legdrop. There's a two count on the pin. Beautiful pushes out of a Bushwhacker Butch hold. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Bushwhacker Butch by Beautiful. My Opinion: One SOLE bright spot in this match keeps it from going into DUD territory. 1/4*. Horowitz is making his debut at this show. The Match: Horowitz gets caught with a belly to belly suplex from Gooker! Gooker drives a HARD forearm into the chest of Horowitz. Horowitz gets caught with a short powerbomb from Gooker. Barry Horowitz takes a butterfly suplex from Gooker. Barry Horowitz avoids a Gobbeldy Gooker avalanche by getting out of the damn way! Barry Horowitz punches away at Gobbeldy Gooker. Barry Horowitz DDTs Gooker in a move that is so poorly executed, you can actually see that Gobbeldy Gooker's head didn't touch the mat at all. Covers for a quick two count. Gooker counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Horowitz takes a quick lariat. There's a two count on the pin. Gobbeldy Gooker brings out a jumping powerbomb to nearly murder Horowitz in the ring! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Horowitz blocks a kick from Gobbeldy Gooker. Barry Horowitz DOESN'T take a page out of Andre the Giant's book and hits an incredibly weak headbutt on Gooker. Horowitz walks into a drop toe hold. Gobbeldy Gooker snap suplexes Horowitz HARD to the canvas! And again! A pair of clotheslines follow and...yep, Gooker is a HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! Gobbeldy Gooker floors Barry Horowitz. Barry Horowitz does what he does best. JOB. Hector Guerrero needs money to pay his power bills so he is the Gooker once again. I have nothing else to had) King Kong Bundy is in the ring and he waits for his mystery opponent. IT'S NATHAN JONES~~~~~~~!!!! Nathan Jones has come back home to where he belongs. King Kong Bundy nearly faints from the shock of what he has to face. The Legendary Nathan Jones. 62 PWH World Title Tournament First Round Match: King Kong Bundy vs Nathan Jones. Match Background: Bundy is making his debut at this show. Nathan J is making his debut at this show. The Match: Bundy gets slammed down hard and winces in pain. Nathan Jones hits some punches. How generic. Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Nathan Jones ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Hooks the leg for a two count. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on King Kong Bundy by Nathan J. Remember when that was a legit finish? Covers for a quick two count. Bundy blocks a kick from Nathan Jones. That match is later) First Round of the Interconinental Title Tournament: Honky Tonk Man vs Jake Roberts. Match Background: HTM is making his debut at this show. Roberts is making his debut at this show. The Match: HTM gets splashed in the corner. Covers for a quick two count. Big clothesline from Roberts. Hooks the leg for a two count. Match Background: Yeti is making his debut at this show. Jimmy Snuk is making his debut at this show. The Match: Jimmy Snuka takes a right hand to the temple from Yeti. I bet those hurt more than Sgt. Slaughter's Noogies. Jimmy Snuka takes a right hand to the temple from Yeti. I bet those hurt more than Sgt. Slaughter's Noogies. Yeti strikes away at Jimmy Snuka, not doing much damage at all. There's a two count on the pin. The Yeti hits a right hand on Jimmy Snuka. Hooks the leg for a two count. Match Background: Ice Train is making his debut at this show. Kamala is making his debut at this show. The Match: BORING ass brawling from Kamala. Kamala DOESN'T take a page out of Andre the Giant's book and hits an incredibly weak headbutt on Ice Train. Weak kick from Kamala. I am unpleased. Covers for a quick two count. You got all your dang fangled Angles and Benoits and Jerichos and Guerreros but give me Ice Train and Disorderly Conduct any day) First Round of the PWH Tag Team Tournament: Rock N Roll Express vs New Doom. Match Background: Morton is making his debut at this show. Gibson is making his debut at this show. Koko is making his debut at this show. Simmons is making his debut at this show. Rock N Roll Express are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion. Koko and Simmons are teaming up as New Doom for the first time tonight. The Match: Spinning back kick from Ricky Morton. Spin kick by Ricky Morton to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Hooks the leg for a two count. Koko B. Ware powers out of a Ricky Morton headlock. THERE IT IS! Jim Duggan comes over...but Koloff grabs him by the tights and uses the leverage to slingshot Jim Duggan face first into the exposed steel turnbuckle! Nikita Koloff rolls up the stunned Jim Duggan, and even puts his feet on the second rope to add insult to injury! 1....2...3! What a display of cheating from Nikita Koloff. My Opinion: Sadly, a 1\2* match. Overall:60 Crowd Reaction:61 Match Quality:61 (Would in be PWH without at least one Jim Duggan vs Nikita Koloff match? I thought not. Koloff advances to the Semifinals of the tournament to face the winner of the final first round match. I think it is Big Boss Man vs One Man Gang but don't quote me on this. I lost my booking napkin(hey it only took me 17 segments to bring up the booking napkin this time)) First Round of the PWH World Title Tournament: Giant Gonzales vs Brutus Beefcake. The Match: Leif takes a snap suplex from Gillberg. Leif Cassidy comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Tiger bomb by Leif Cassidy, which is nowhere near as cool as a botched Pedigree but gets the job done. Wicked suplex out of the corner from Leif Cassidy, is executed so well, it hurt MY back. Leif Cassidy moves in for the kill. Leif Sault!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! My Opinion: DUD. That's about all I can say without getting into obsenities. New Doom signal to each other...and they attack Henry and Rodney Mack! After an swift brawl, Mack and Henry are left down in the ring. My Opinion: I'll give a 1\2* rating because they were actually able to hit a couple of spots. Overall:57 Crowd Reaction:50 Match Quality:64 (New Doom win this match with a good old fashioned brass knuckles shot. PWH-Old School and Loving it. Secret Agent Mack is losing overness from his weak gimmick. He has OVERNESS) Jimmy Snuka comes out and is blindsided by Scotty Riggs. A brawl happens in the ring and Snuka gets a headbutt in before Riggs sprays some colonge in the eyes of the Superfly. Riggs puts on the Clapper and Snuka can't see. He has been blinded. Riggs releases the hold and sprays the colonge on himself. Jimmy Snuka may never be able to see again. Perhaps he will go in the ring WITHOUT VISION~! Perhaps I am recyling old WWF angles from the early 1990s. Perhaps there might be a BLINDFOLD MATCH~! Or perhaps this angle will be dropped in a few weeks. Nobody knows. 52 Giant Gonzales vs Ice Train. Match Background: None. The Match: Uninspired brawling from Giant Gonzales. Gonzales slams Ice Train down. Ice Train is sure in trouble now. Wack kick from OMG. There's a two count on the pin. Big kick from OMG staggers Gillberg but that's about it. There's a two count on the pin. Gillberg powers out of a One Man Gang headlock. One Man Gang walks into a chop. That must have hurt. Covers for a quick two count. BRUTAL forearm by Gillberg, the operative word being brutal. OMG counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Flapjack from OMG on Gillberg. One Man Gang has Gillberg down on the canvas. Big Splash!!! 1....2....3!! It's all over. My Opinion: DUD. I refuse to say any more about it. Overall:54 Crowd Reaction:38 Match Quality:54 (0-11 for Gillberg. One Man Gang is still feuding with the Big Boss Man over something. Match Background: Rhythm and Blues used to be a regular team, but have been inactive for a while. Whether this match will lead to a reformation as an active unit remains to be seen. HTM and Backlund have been feuding recently. So far, HTM hasn't managed to get a pin or submission over Backlund since the feud started. Valentine and Beefcake have been feuding recently. Neither has managed to get an in-ring victory in this feud. Honky Tonk Man is the reigning PWH Interconinental champion, and has been since 03 January 2004. The Match: Throat chop by Valentine does nothing but remind me of the Samoan Wrestling Family Tree. Backlund counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free!
