Guest ligerbomb03 Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 (edited) New Japan vs. Inoki Army - IWGP Heavyweight Title: Hiroyoshi Tenzan beat Yoshihiro Takayama © (27:26) with a moonsault press to become the 33rd champion. Edited November 3, 2003 by ligerbomb03
Internet Warfare Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Well I'm not too shocked by this. I just hope he doesnt fail as champion.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 I hope he gets a decent run with the belt. I have to say I'm glad the belts off Takayama
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 This was a long time coming. And I enjoy Tenzan...from my limited viewings of him at least.
Michrome Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 I want to see Tenzan vs. Nagata for the gold now, that's a long time coming, and would be superb.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 I have to admit I still don't like Tenzan as a singles wrestler. His moveset just doesn't seem to work for me. I think he's an awesome tag team guy though.
Guest The Rising Star Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 The IWGP titles don't seem important nowadays. You've had such champions as Hashimoto, Nagata, Takayama and now Tenzan. All of them don't seem worthy of the title, at the very least not Nagata, a bum that needs to be piggybacked by Muto.
Guest Black Tiger Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 With NJPW and AJPW on friendly terms again (at least with Chono and Mutoh) maybe 1/4 will give us another Tenkoji Reunion, this time for the IWGP Title in a rematch from 1/4/96. NJPW gave Tenzan a pretty nice buildup going into this, his losing streak and then his return, and just barely winning the G1 after he started out in last. Then he litterally owned Takayama for the whole tour making it look like he'd lose the big match.
vermilion Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 Finally........I hope it works out for him. It almost makes me forgive him for cutting the skunk mullet. I did see that Tenzan talked of fighting Hogan for the title. Personally I wouldn't mind this if he was to actually win. As far as GOOD challengers, Kojima would be a perfect choice. Play up the whole "knows him better than anyone" b.s.
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 Whatever happened to that American dude? You know the one who knocked out Inoki to become the first champion? What was his name?
Guest Indikator Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 His name was Sterling Golden I hope that Nagata vs. Tenzan will be at the May dome show
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 I hope that Nagata vs. Tenzan will be at the May dome show I would imagine that would be their best bet.
Guest The Son of Sting Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 With NJPW and AJPW on friendly terms again (at least with Chono and Mutoh) maybe 1/4 will give us another Tenkoji Reunion, this time for the IWGP Title in a rematch from 1/4/96. Would Kojima be credible?I doubt anyone would think he has a chance. He has lost most of his big matches in AJ. I would like to see it but i dont think it would be a dome main event. I think we might see Chono/Tenzan vs Muto/Kojima or Tenzan vs Muto.
