Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 Hey, Dangerous_A asked me to PM you. He told me he is going to be unavailable to "write up a match" He has just been informed his dad is in the hospital after a blood vessel in his head ruptured, so I would imagine most of his time will be taken up. If you have any questions ask me and I will ask him in person, since I don't think he will be the computer for a bit. -NoCalMike Just something really bad for D-A who just got back. Let's try to keep his character active, he should be back by New Year's I hope -SJP
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 Here's hoping Tom's dad makes it through ok. I'll try and keep DA active as much as I can. Perhaps Alf can help out too as he's in the Dangerous Alliance.

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2003 Thank you SJ and all OAOAST'ers. My dad is doing better. He is still not out of the woods by any stretch. The bleed on his brain has caused some memory loss and such. It occurred on Halloween Friday, but I was not notified until sunday evening. He has a tube inserted inside his head draining fluid in his brain. We (nurses and family) monitor his ICP (Inter Cranial Pressure) constantly. That is the most important part of the injury right now. It is not diagnosed as an aneurysm yet. His father (my grandfather) died of an aneurysm, so this is scary to me as well since those are hereditary. He also suffered a mild heart attack and had pneumonia because of vomit getting inside his lungs. The pneumonia has subsided and he can breathe without a breathing machine now. He can actually talk and move all his limbs, but is in denial of what has happened. This is the hardest part. My sister just flew in from Atlanta to visit him and he is starting to believe that what occurred to him is pretty serious. For the last 2 days, he has been agitated with me and the nurses because we won't let him out of the bed. I still have to get his affairs in order, so my ETA for coming back to OAOAST is not known yet. I do want to come back asap though. This is the first time I've had to sit in front of a PC and let someone other than family and friends know what is going on. It's kind of theraputic. Again, thanks for caring and hope to read some of you guys writing in the near future. Thanks, Tom Amey Jr aka Dangerous A
