What's the deal?

Recommended Posts

Guest JacK

What's the deal? I read on NWA-TNA that Sabin lost to some new 'X' dude . . .WHAT's THE DEAL?!?!?? IT mumbled some crap about injured or whatever, but what's doin?

I mean sure, I absolutly hate Sabin for some reason (I think it's his attire, it shits me BEYOND BELIEF.) but he's pretty good in the ring and built to be all; like GOOD and all.

So . . . what's the deal? Dealerise me!

"X" is Carl Oulette, who was a part of The Quebecers (The Pirate). He looked like he dropped a duce in his short-shorts this past week, but he used the Package Piledriver (which, again, I swear I invented when wrestling with a couple friends in my room 5 years ago), which owns 29,852 different kinds of ass.

It's to put X over. Besides, as long as somebody takes the belt off of Michael Shane, I'm happy.

Ahh, ok then. I suppose it's alright, if there trying to put someone over as new champ material. But still . . . and if he didn't wrestle 'X' style, wouldn't that make him similiar if not worse to Shane?

I reckon it's a good idea. They keep talking about how the X-Division has no weight limits, but I think Siaki or Lynn would be the biggest guys whove been in the division. Even if he can't wrestle like a Sabin or a Lynn, there's still the opportunity for some cool styles clashing matches.

My friend told me this, and I agree:

The X-Style is about High-Impact stuff, not necessarily about high-flying.

Exactly. Having a power wrestler in the X-Division, as long as he's fast (since the X-Style is about fast-paced, hard-hitting action) about it, would be a decent change. They started going this route with Chris Sabin, whose matches focused more on working over the opponent's back and/or neck to set up for the Future Shock.

Dammit...PUT THE BELT BACK ON SABIN! GIVE HIM MIC TIME! DAH!

Oulette seemed to be as agile as I've ever seen him. That package pile driver was just a sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick move and another example of something you'd never see on WWE.

Can someone describe the Package Piledriver to me? It sounds fun.

Oh I forgot IT WAS ON A CHAIR too. Basically don't lift them all the way up, so theyre just kinda folded between your legs and then drop them on their head.

Well, Oulette's version was. When I did to my friends, my legs were curved (so I landed like Kash does during the MoneyMaker), so it was pretty safe. Well, as safe as a move of that kind can get, anyways.

Package Piledriver: Get your opponent into a piledriver position, and then apply a double-underhook. Reach down to the back of their knees, and hook both legs, making sure that the opponent's arms are caught behind their back. Lift your opponent up, and then fall into a piledriver.

How do you hook their arms & legs when you only have two arms yourself?

Are you just describing it poorly, or have my reading skills dropped?

I thought that it was like the piledriver in the Smackdown games....

You're reading it wrong, or my wording may be a little off.

Okay...while their arms are hooked, you let go of your own hands, BUT KEEP THEIR ARMS CLENCHED BEHIND THEM BY THE FORCE OF THE SIDES OF YOUR ARMS. Their arms are trapped because your arms are hooking their legs, and the pressure is also on their arms/shoulders, so they can't move them.

Couldn't they think of a better name for the guy though? I mean isn't it a little obvious for a guy named "X" to be the next "X-Division" champion?...

The story is that Don Callis brought him in...so whatever his plan is for the X division (a big man entering with little guys) naming the guy X is probably meant as a rib on the division itself.

Ah...that does make sense then...I didn't realize Callis brought "X" in (haven't watched the show yet)...

There was also rumors during the match itself that it was someone Shane Douglas was scouting or something like that.
