St. Louis declined Mike DeJean's $2.5mill option. They are interested in bringing him back however at a lower cost

Jimmy Haynes accepted his $2.5mill option to stay with the Reds. Sorry Cinci fans, you're stuck with him for another year.

Robb Nen excersised his $9mill option to stay with San Franfor the 2004 season. Coming off an injury its likely the most he would have seen on this market would have been $5-6mill. Smart move on his part.

The Rockies are looking for options at third base right now. With their payroll priority one is bringing back Vinny Castilla, back-up plan is Robin Ventura who could have 1 or 2 more years left in him and hitting at Coors would definately be to his benefit.

The Marlins have started negotiations with I-Rod. They've offered him a 3 year $21mill deal but with I-Rod's handling of the young pitching staff, his offensive numbers and his post-season numbers he'll deffinately demand more. With Miguel Cabrera able to play RF and Jeff Conine back its looking more and more likely that Juan Encarnacion will be traded to shave payroll to help keep Derek Lee, Mike Lowell, and add a bit more towards getting I-Rod. The Marlins are also listening to offers for A.J. Burnett. Only teams I've heard that have inquired thus far are Boston, Toronto, and Anaheim. He wouldn't cost the farm since he wouldn't be able to play until around July/August and he's also going to make a good chunk of money this year.

That's all I know at the moment, hope you bastards appreciate it

And yet,not one word about Grady Little. For shame.

The Marlins have started negotiations with I-Rod. They've offered him a 3 year $21mill deal but with I-Rod's handling of the young pitching staff, his offensive numbers and his post-season numbers he'll deffinately demand more.

That's iffy. I-Rod would demand $7 Million+, but teams aren't as willing to offer catchers three year contracts as they were before.

What?

No Pirates news?

Surely the Buccos are aggressively pursuing some fine free agents...

From espn.com.....

GM Dave Littlefield is making a pitch to bring back RHP Jeff Suppan, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Oct. 31. Suppan was traded July 31 to the Red Sox, who declined to pick up his $4 million option. Littlefield said he's also discussed one-year contracts with OFs Reggie Sanders and Matt Stairs, and RH reliever Julian Tavarez.

There you have it. Go Pirates!

Awww, yeah. To the top of the NL Central they go...

At least they got PNC Park....that park is fucking sweet. Exactly what I want the new Boston park to be like (Although they're never gonna get rid of Fenway).
