Guest Joe Report post Posted November 10, 2003 Seriously, there is a lot of potential with Abyss...But they can't seem to capture it...Having him do the "loner" thing made some sense, though it confused the heck out of the audience (who would cheer him when he beat up Kash, but then wonder if they should boo when he attacked Dutt or another face)...And now it appears that Callis has "taken control" of Abyss, which will either make him a full heel or simply rerun the Kash/Abyss "you do what I say" angle...Either way it feels like they're trying to push Abyss too far too soon...Yes he's a talented guy, moves in amazing ways for a big man, and has a natural ability to get over with the fans...But he's not ready to be a major focus of the shows...Abyss would be better of sticking with his feud against Kash, or feuding with another mid-card heel... Right now, I'm starting to dislike Abyss because of how he's being used...Is it just me or are they simply not utilizing Abyss the way they should?... Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted November 10, 2003 Shouldn't this be titled: NWATNA.......What are they doing?
eirejmcmahon 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 Isn't the new NWATNA booker the guy who made Abyss a success in the first place ?
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Report post Posted November 10, 2003 Sorta. Dutch Mantell and whoever books NWA Wildside basically deserve equal credit for Abyss. Before Abyss went to IWA: PR, he was a dominant Wildside Heavyweight champion as part of Jeff G. Bailey's NWA Elite, and had a high-profile feud with AJ Styles there that got him over huge. If anyone can fill in his IWA credentials, that would be cool.
Guest RVDmark Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I've always been curious as to who Abyss is under the mask and what name did he use in Wildside? How many years has he wrestled?
Jingus 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Abyss is otherwise known as Prince Justice elsewhere on the indy scene, or sometimes just Justice. I think he started doing the Abyss gimmick in IWA, and it was a pretty blatant Kane ripoff (Puerto Rican wrestling companies do this kind of thing all the time), before TNA retooled it into its current form. And I got to manage him once, too. ::does the Dance of Massively Overinflated Ego::
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 The same Prince Justice that was at the very first TNA show? If so, he has lost some weight and gotten alot taller.
Guest DRAWMUH! Report post Posted November 11, 2003 yeah, its the same guy
Guest RVDmark Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I went to princejustice.com and I can see why Abyss/Justice wears a mask. Without the mask, Abyss/Prince Justice just looks like a big goof and would probably not be taken seriously. How big is he though, height and weight?
