I don't see David Wells coming back...of course as a Red Sox fan I wouldn't mind seeing it because his back will break by May. With both Torre and Stottlemyer back though I think Wells goes home to San Diego.

So much for mystique and aura.

A lot can be said for mystique and aura.

In fact, if the ghosts in monument park weren't so disgusted with the total lack of effort during the world series, they would have played a hand in game six.

At least Mussina is rock solid.

He'll break his leg.

I mean, really, why the hell wouldn't he?

So?

I'm just loading up on the quality pitchers so we can shove TDW out of the rotation.

Wells in a wheelchair or Weaver.

To me, the choice is obvious.

Sheffield to the Yankees is basically done and just waiting to be announced.

Richie Sexon to the Diamondbacks for Junior Spivey, Craig Counsell, Lyle Overbay, and Chris Capuano.

Once again Brewers management drops the ball because they got absolute shit in return for Sexon

Posted

Well if Overbay is really the prospect that everyone thinks, then they didn't get nothing in return. But if he is just another overhyped prospect then yeah they got nothing.

I can't believe in their effort to trim payroll they take on the contract of Junior Spivey?!? Arizona goes from having to tack him onto a Schilling deal to a Milwuakee team willing to take him. Genius. Pure genius.

The D'backs are in a good position heading into this offseason. Their lineup is solid, with Sexson now leading the way along with Luis Gonzalez. Alex Cintron hit .317 last year. Scott Hairston is a much heralded prospect. Meanwhile, their pitching staff claims Randy Johnson as the anchor, along with Brandon Webb, Casey Fossum, Elmer Dessens, and a handful of prospects.

As for the Brewers, a bold prediction. The Brewers will lose more games than the Detroit Tigers this season. They've got no bench strength, and beyond Ben Sheets there's not a single reliable pitcher on the staff. A new stadium brought nothing but a huge cut in payroll.

I might have to agree with you there. When the most entertaining part of your home games is the sausage races in the 7th inning strech- you know you suck.

That female sausage racer that got hit by the bat was cute, and I think the quote of the year has to be from her too

"I don't see what the big deal is, I'm just a sausage"

Good.

NOW GET A FUCKING PITCHER.

And the first moron I see walking around the Bronx wearing a Chef's hat takes Weaver's place on the list.

Now its being said that Brewers management figured they were getting screwed and had the deal changed to Counsell, Overbay, and De LaRosa.

Either way Sexon is going to be a D-Back

I know it's only late November....but at this pace I think next year the Yankees might finish 2nd maybe even *gasp* 3rd in the AL East. It's only Late November but man the Yankees aren't looking so hot right now.

That would be a disgrace.

Third in a division that essentially has two teams.

But man would it make me smile

I think at this pace, the division standings will be.....

1.Boston

2. New York

3. Baltimore (With Vlad Guerrero likely to be on their roster, they will be a real threat to the Sox and Yankess)

4. Toronto (Also a threat to Sox and Yankees. Really interchangable with the Os)

5. Tampa Bay (They'll win 75 this year though, which must be a franchise record)

Sheffield a Yankee...more old people on their way with him

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1674675

Damn. Looking at that article it looks like the Yankees want every day to be an old timers day at the park.

BTW for you Yank-me fans do you really believe Pettite will end up in the Astros Mud n' Blood this year? I would've thought that in light of the Schilling trade Georgie would throw everything short of his yacht at AP. Of course it as nice seeing AP and Roger Clemens at today's Texans game in someone's luxury suite. Hmmm...
