Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted November 10, 2003 The title has to do with that person last time that was expecting Grady Little news. I'm sorry, but no news on him...I'm sure his 2 or 3 fans are disappointed. Anyways... The Brewers board of directors met recently and said they want to shave payroll down to $30mill for next season. Only way they can do this is by trading Richie Sexon and Geoff Jenkins thus ensuring them worst record in the NL next year. Dodgers and Diamondbacks are showing the most interest. Haven't heard what the Dodgers would be willing to give up but the D-Backs apparently would be willing to give up Junior Spivey, John Patterson, and Jose Valverde. Nothing on Jenkins but he's a good left handed bat that has been hit with some bad luck the past 2 years Cubs and Yankees are the front runners in about 12 teams looking at LaTroy Hawkins Twins are willing to listen to offers on Milton and Radke. They'll probably have to trade one as they make a combined $19mill next year. Red Sox are looking to upgrade the closer position and are willing to trade Williamson to do it. As a Sox fan I hope they just target Foulke and have Williamson set-up for him. Robert Person and Rick Helling have told the Rockies GM they want to start next year for Colorado, thus proving they're both idiots. Of course I doubt they could get starting jobs anywhere else in the bigs. And finally Photographer sues Red Sox pitcher Kim over assault KH Jack, Korea Herald Boston Red Sox closer Kim Byung-hyun was charged with assault yesterday by a photojournalist who claims he was beaten by the baseball star when trying to take photos of him in Seoul, police said. According to the written complaint lodged by the photographer, he took a few snap shots of Kim emerging from a sports center in Yoeksam-dong, southern Seoul, failing to heed Kim's warning not to photograph him last Saturday evening. Lashing out at the photographer who belongs to a major sports daily published in Seoul, Kim punched the photographer in the ribs and wrestled him to gain possession of his camera and seize the film. In doing so, his camera and some peripheral equipment worth 13 million won ($10,800) fell to the ground and were shattered, the photographer alleged. Kim has been alternating between the United States and Korea and has been "camera shy" since being left of the American League Championship Sereies due to an obscene gesture he made against his home fans at Boston's Fenway Park by raising his middle finger. "Celebrities are public figures whose personal portrait rights are not always protected or immune from the media's interest," the alleged victim contended, saying that Kim should be held responsible for the violence. Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted November 10, 2003 I only have a little understanding of baseball, but why do the Tigers want to cut their budget?

the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 (edited) If I could unload Jenkins, I would do it in a heartbeat. He isn't worth in the 6 mil area, especially to that team. You could get a couple of prospects, then do like Boston did last year and get a David Ortiz type for 1/6th of that. As for Sexson, I would trade him if I could get value. But for him at 8.5 mil, I would need to be overwhelmed. Edit: Jenkins make less than 8.5. Edited November 10, 2003 by the pinjockey
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2003 If Jenkins can hit the way he did this year, he'd be in good shape. .296/.375/.538 is quite good for a left handed bat. A Ryan Klesko type. I don't know if I'd shell out money for him though. Sexson is a hitting machine, and quite possibly one of the NL's best first basemen. I'd take a flyer on him if my team didn't have a power threat.
