Damaramu Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Well MIGHTY... My UConn is number 1 and is up by 3 with 8:34 left. I thought that game was on Saturday. Oh well.....I don't really follow basketball like I do football. *edit* Ah it isn't until Saturday.......
Guest Redhawk Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Providence got dicked on that last-second shot, by the way. As I heard someone on some ESPn show say, the clock should get priority because the clock has always been there. Even when there was a peach basket, there was a clock. F*** the horn or the light behind the backboard. There's a column on ESPN.com today about how much the Big Ten sucks. I can't recall the correct number, but they're like 4-14 or something against the other major conferences (Big 12, ACC, SEC, Big East)
Vern Gagne Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Big 10 is the worst it's been in years. Wisconsin, and Illinois are probably the only two legit Top 25 programs. Indiana's embarassingly bad. 3 loses of more than 30 points. Minnesota struggles against bad teams at home. Michigan St. dug themselves in a hole pretty deep. Although considering how bad the conference is 11-5 isn't out the realm of possibility.

lomasmoney Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Michigan doesn't suck they have lost to Vanderbilt who has shown to be a tourney team, and Boston College by 1, and BC always seems to be a solid team
Bored Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 No one will care but...WOO HOO STANFORD WHOOPED ARIZONA'S ASS! A Lute Olsen coached Arizona team had never lost three in a row to the same opponent at home and now they've lost four years in a row to Stanford. 13-0 baby!
Mole Posted January 12, 2004 Author Report Posted January 12, 2004 Damaramu, how bout your OU playing against my UConn? They are playing really well....
Damaramu Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Damaramu, how bout your OU playing against my UConn? They are playing really well.... I'm watching the Eagles/Packers game actually.....I don't get into college basketball generally until March Madness. But I'll give it a look.
Damaramu Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 *checks game* Jesus OU's getting bitch slapped like they're a well.....bitch.
Damaramu Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Well.....OU bent over and said "Please take that spiked dildo and ram it up my ass sir!"
Damaramu Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 UConn is that damn good. They were a great team no doubt.....but I don't think OU is that great of a team. I remember comparing them playing to a top ranked team and I knew it was a matter of time before they're knocked off.
Mole Posted January 12, 2004 Author Report Posted January 12, 2004 UConn has gotten so much better than the beginning of the season. Calhoun is finally using his bench and Okafor just can't be stopped. They are mad quick and are great at passing the ball. Sadly, the last team to start the season #1 and win the National Championship is Kentucky in 1996 and that was a good team.
Vern Gagne Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Just noticed Kentucky has 5 players score in double digits, but after that no one scores more than 3 points per game.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 fear the turtles! 90-84 Terps over the Tar Heels
Vern Gagne Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 ACC is such kickass conference. Exciting high scoring games. Take note horseshit Big 10. It's not like the ACC doesn't own your asses every year. One thing Williams needs to do is get that guy who shoots only 41% from the line out of the game late.
Damaramu Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Hmm.......OSU beat OU last night. I in Zoology Lab from 6:30-9:30 so I missed it......curses........
cabbageboy Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Let's not get carried away here with UConn. I mean the same week they killed OU they beat Rutgers by 1. I dare say UNC might take them out this weekend. Combine that with Wake likely laying down at Cameron and we have the national nightmare..... Duke at #1. As far as UK goes, I think U of L completely exposed all of their weaknesses. It's just a matter of time before someone in the SEC capitalizes (Miss St. basically did but gave up the garbage basket). UK's probably the weakest team in the top 5 right now, well, until St. Joes gets into it. Watch out for the U of L/Cincy game next Wednesday. We should be able to take them here at the Hall, but if Cincy comes out with the win you can just book them for San Antonio right now.
ANKLELOCK Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 GREAT game between UNC and Uconn the other day. Duke is the best team, though I can't stand them
Damaramu Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Hmmm........OU has lost 4 straight.......many are worried they won't make it to the tournament? What exactly do you have to do to get into the tournament?
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 You have a guaranteed bid if you win your conference. ... Oklahoma...win...conference... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Bored Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Need to start bringing some content to this thread. Here is ESPN.com's Joe Lunardi's current bracket projection (through Sunday's games): http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology And here is the Top 25 teams in the RPI ratings through Monday's games from collegerpi.com: 1. St. Joseph's 15-0 2. Kentucky 11-2 3. Duke 14-1 4. Louisville 13-1 5. Florida 11-3 6. North Carolina 11-3 7. Texas Tech 15-2 8. Stanford 14-0 9. Kansas 10-2 10. Arizona 11-3 11. Georgia Tech 14-2 12. Connecticut 15-2 13. Alabama 10-4 14. Providence 11-3 15. Wisconsin 11-3 16. Gonzaga 14-2 17. Cincinnati 13-0 18. Pittsburgh 17-1 19. Syracuse 13-1 20. Boston College 12-4 21. Mississippi State 14-1 22. LSU 12-2 23. Vanderbilt 13-2 24. Texas 11-2 25. Wake Forest 11-2
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 GREAT game between UNC and Uconn the other day. Duke is the best team, though I can't stand them Maryland might just beat Duke. They already beat a #1 team this year (@Florida) and this is a home game for the Terps.
Damaramu Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 You have a guaranteed bid if you win your conference. ... Oklahoma...win...conference... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA They won it the past 4 years, you act as if they've never done it.........but this year.......*shudders*.....man our basketball team sucks. And if that's a jab at football BPS.....give it a rest.....the season's over and you do realize that OU won the Big XII in 2000 and 2002. You make it sound like they've never won the confrence in any sport. I read a whiny article in today's school paper about how no students will come to an OU basketball game and all that the student body cares about is football. Then they complained that we don't show enough emotion at games and blah blah blah. Well it's kind of hard when you're already a football state and your football team goes around winning all the damn time, going to national championships and bowl games. Winning a bowl(with the exception of this year) in 2000,2001,2002 and then winning a National Championship in 2000. People are spoiled by the football team being so good and when the basketball team doesn't achieve the same thing they lose there interest. It's a knee jerk reaction. Do I think like that? No. I just don't like our basketball games because they bore the hell out of me. I could care less if they were winning national titles......maybe if they incorporated some excitement in there.
Mole Posted January 21, 2004 Author Report Posted January 21, 2004 If you think about it, winning or loosing right now really means nothing at all. If a team is number 1, who gives a shit. It all matters once the conference tournies start and then the 64 tourney starts.
Damaramu Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 If you think about it, winning or loosing right now really means nothing at all. If a team is number 1, who gives a shit. It all matters once the conference tournies start and then the 64 tourney starts. Yeah that's what I'm asking. Aside from winning the conference how else do you get into the 64 Tournament? I mean OU's won the conference for the past 4 years but they've been in the tournament for the past 9.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I didnt realize that the last two times Duke had played MD here that they were #1 and lost. Its been an ugly game so far but its not even halftime yet.
Guest Choken One Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 well, Louisville exposed Cincy.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Duke is playing like crap and the Terps can't capitalize. Come on Terps, be the first team in 50 years to knock of 2 #1 teams in 1 year...
