Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted December 19, 2003 Including a lot of Police Forces, and the FBI, if I'm not mistaken. I too am a believer in shotguns. Talk about stopping power. I've got one, and I wouldn't trade it for any weapon in the world, save maybe a flamethrower. Rack that slide in someone's face, and they're shitting. I used to hunt occasionally, too, but I've kind of lost interest. On the rare times that I do, it's always with a bow anymore. Still, shotguns are powerful, reliable, legal, and relatively affordable. They're just big is all, which is why I'd like to get one with a pistol grip. MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 Glocks are reliable and the .40/45AP are sweet. The Ruger and Sprinfield Armory ones that I posted are getting really good reviews... especially the S&A XD one and that comes in 9mm/.40/45 flavors.. plus its really hard to accidentally fire because outside of the normal safety it has both a trigger AND grip safeties on it. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted December 19, 2003 Good to have since you've got a little kid and all. Me, I want something I can point at a dark figure in the shadows, and have it go off suddenly, eradicating what may or may not be there. It's only got a safety on the trigger, and it's just a dainty little thing that goes into attack mode with a little push. After that, it's Brinnikey (sp) slugs out the ying-yang at a fairly good pace. I don't monkey with any plastic casing full of BB's. It's one spinning chunk of searing lead for me. MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 This isn't the EXACT one but Ruger makes a model of this that is Double Action Only.... NO external safety... and it's a .40SW. Good times.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 And the Ruger logo owns Nothing like a Red Flaming Phoenix.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Including a lot of Police Forces, and the FBI, if I'm not mistaken. The FBI (Including the SWAT HRT team) is now going with the Springfield Armory 1911. BAAAD MOTHERFUCKERS. .45AP and a 5" barrel of justice right there.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Yeah, that'd kill a dude. I'm having no luck with the shotgun search, really, so I'm starting to consider getting a handgun. I'm on a budget though, so I'm not going to be getting any sweet FBI Special Unit firearms or anything cool like that. Probably more like a really noisy snub-nosed .357 Magnum. Those are dirt cheap at some of the backwoods gun stores around here, and are easy to carry.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Check out http://www.galleryofguns.com GOOD SHIT there. The price that is listed is the MSRP... but when you actually go through the price is usually $100- 200 or so cheaper. An example is a Glock 21 is about $700 MSRP but if you want to see prices in your area its about the $450-550 mark. You can search by caliber etc. I think a .40SW or 45 would be good enough and can be gotten relatively cheap.
