NoCalMike Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 First of all what does this mean?(I have seen it before, like when you try to put a something inside something that is already there or when you try to rename a song when the song is in use, but I don't know why my computer thinks the file is in use) Secondly, how do I delete the file. I finally got Kill BIll to work the way I want, so instead of making the trash task simple, it wants to frustrate me some more. I burned what I needed onto a disk and now I want to get rid of a 600meg file just sitting there wasting space. Help~!
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 It usually means you're running the file somewhere else. If not, try rebooting. If that doesn't work... Try cancelling a lot of processes.
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 XP has a bug where deleting big files with long file names doesn't always work. Try renaming it then deleting it.
Jobber of the Week Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 Reboot and try to delete it If that doesn't work, reboot into safe mode and try to delete it. If that doesn't work then reboot into regular and get a program that can really decimate some data. My favorite free spyware catcher, SpyBot, has a file shredder built into it
