Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted November 22, 2003 I'll admit, I am a fan of both The Cat In The Hat and Mike Myers, so I thought about seeing this. One of the local papers here in NYC (The Daily News) gave it * Star, but I don't pay attention to the "Critics". In this case, they figure... "HEY! The Grinch made $206Mil at the B.O. and everybody loved Jim Carrey, let's film The Cat In The Hat and sign Mike Myers to star. Big Holiday hit written all over it, right?" Either way, it's going to make at least $50Mil this weekend.

Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted November 22, 2003 I hear this movie is not good, I hope to all that's understood. "Grinch" was bad, you should not have went, But yet you spent and spent and spent. This idea blows! This movie sucks! Do not go give them your 8 bucks! For if they profit from this scam, They'll next destroy Green Eggs and Ham.

There is already talk of making a sequel to the Cat in the Hat. The producer Brian Grazer was talking about it on ET. Now that is the most foolish thing I've ever heard talked about. A sequel? Ugh. Maybe I'm just twisted, but I see a dark side in much of Suess' work. That's the psychologist at work
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted November 22, 2003 My local paper has a rating system of a little guy in a chair, his reaction tells you how good the movie is...well the little guy left the damn chair and went home on this movie review. It got the "Never Mind" rating
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2003 Cat in the Hat: Look, your parents are going to be home soon...are you sure you don't want me to help you clean up? Peter Griffin: No, no, just go. It'll be funny!

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 Cat in the Hat made $40 million. The article I read said that it really didn't matter how bad critics slamed it, since the main target audience was kids and kids dont read reviews.

The article I read said that it really didn't matter how bad critics slamed it, since the main target audience was kids and kids dont read reviews. Kids aren't as stupid as people think, though. There's a lot more going on down there than us old folk remember/expect.

Well, considering how lame the 1st movie sounds/looks, I think a sequel would be just lamer.
