WWE DVD release schedule

Recommended Posts

The schedule for PPV releases on DVD from today onwards:

Dec. 16 - Survivor Series

Jan. 20- Armageddon

The Rock's Greatest Hits (this is a new one on me)

Feb. 10- Best of Confidential 2

Rise and Fall of WCW (I guess we SHOULD have seen THIS name change coming. This was titled "The Monday Night Wars" at one point.)

Feb. 24- Royal Rumble

Mar. 2- Kurt Angle

Apr. 27- Wrestlemania XX

Divas in Mexico

May 2004- Backlash

June 2004- Judgment Day

I know that The Rock is popular, but does he need his FOURTH DVD?!? (He has People's Champ, Just Bring It, Just Bring It SE (extra matches), and at least one old WWF home video ported to DVD)

This DVD better contain a bunch of good Rock matches that are NOT already on DVD, such as the Rock-Trips match from Backlash, the Iron Man match from Judgment Day, some of his TV matches, etc.

They should tape the occasional house show match for DVD. It'd really give them something extra to push plus give people a sample of the house shows.

They're too cheap to do it and, besides, if it didn't happen on TV, we don't care. [WWE mindset]

Hell, I'd LOVE to have a copy of the match Tajiri and Kidman put on at the house show I went to in April 2002, but it would have overshadowed some people if they'd been forced to keep it under a certain time limit like they did at Backlash 2002 a few weeks later.

The Rock DVD will likely be a comp of Promos...

Unless they are going the RIC FLAIR/HBK/REY route with it.

But it's likely another Brock like DVD. A couple Matches and a fluff piece.

The rise and fall of WCW???

While I was looking forward to seeing the Monday Night Wars DVD, do you guys think that the change was made due to the success of the Flair DVD? Hopefully this will lead to more classics on the DVD.

I'd love to see Rock / HHH Iron Match on DVD, but the WWF Attitude Logo ruined any chance of that ever happening now.

I thought it just for international sales that they can't show WWE?

Fuck Canada and Europe, give us bloody americans the fucking goods.

I don't protest the fact that the DVD will center on WCW... I protest the fact that it will almost certainly be a blatant propaganda piece that says Bret Hart killed WCW even though it had flushed a lot down the shitter before he ever arrived.

The good thing is...It's gotta be heavy on the Bischoff blame here...

So that Means Shawn or Jericho can blantantly plug that fact.

Umm, What happened to the Foley DVD? I don't see it listed.

Foley isn't listed here because it wasn't on the flyer included with No Mercy... which is my source for this list.

That doesn't mean it isn't coming, it just means that it wasn't mentioned when this list was created. It did push back the Angle DVD, too, as it was scheduled to street the same day as Best of Confidential 2 but it appears to have been bumped for The Rock's new DVD.

It would be a hoot if it turned out that the WCW centered DVD's were better selling.

I really hope the Angle DVD ends up being a set that has the 2001 Austin feud in it's entirety on it (promos, everything). That would be fantastic.

I have new hope in their DVD's ever since the Flair set.

Most of that can't be shown.

The DVD will focus on his post-hair matches and promos, with a few spot and promos from 2000-2001.

I have new hope in their DVD's ever since the Flair set.

They've done wonders with the tape libraries beginning with the Hogan 2-disc release last year - when has it exactly been disappointing since then?

HULK STILL RULES was an abortion.

I don't know... I think the TNT bit with Hogan making "health shakes" using "python powder" was a great bit of camp.

They should have left off some of the BS like the Puerto Rico matches though.
