Guest CronoT Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Last night, my soon to be brother-in-law and I got into a "discussion" about Triple H. He claims that Triple H is the best guy for the business in years. He also said that he was the best heel in WWF/E history. I tried explaining to him about how Levesque was in the business only for himself, and didn't care spit for anyone else. I also got into another small discussion about how he said The Rock was a horrible wrestler, and how all his movies are pieces of garbage. So, what do you think? Is my soon to be brother-in-law an idiot when it comes to wrestling?
OldSchoolWrestling Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Smarks and marks should never argue. It leads nowhere.
haVoc Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 He's actually smart for not caring about the backstage crap and just for the shows themselves.
Guest Ghettoman Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Well if he isn't your typical internet fan why shouldn't he think that way? Who else has been made to look better. Look back on it now, if you liked Triple H, you liked him because he as a wrestler was succesful, he was evil and good, a combo we loved. The second we learned more than we were supposed to and became a little more obvious to his weak points we all turned. Simple really.
Guest Goodear Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Let me ask you a question... if your Brother-in-Law really liked Keyshawn Johnson would you post about it on a football message board? PS: All of Rock's moves are really bad... his execution is probably the weakest part of his game.
Guest Megatron Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Smarks and marks should never argue. It leads nowhere. This board is all the proof you need for that.
haVoc Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 What about his execution? Rock may use the Sharpshooter, but he's not excellent!
Guest Ghettoman Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I'll take the Rockshooter over Storms massacre!
dubq Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 He's actually smart for not caring about the backstage crap and just for the shows themselves. I echo that sentiment.
The Mandarin Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 (edited) He's actually smart for not caring about the backstage crap and just for the shows themselves. I echo that sentiment. As do I. I remember the days when wrestlers had characters. And people based their thoughts on the like, or dislike of those wrestlers. Just like characters in a soap opera. Wait, only marks believe in soap operas. DAYS OF OUR LIVES REALLY NEEDS TO PICK UP THE WORKRATE. ALL MY CHILDREN IS HOLDING GENERAL HOSPITAL DOWN. Edited November 25, 2003 by CM Funk
Guest RollingSambos Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Usually I'd echo that, but in HHH's case...yes, your brother-in-law is an idiot.
haVoc Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Nah, if we didn't hate Triple H as much as we have then some of his matches over the past year might have been more entertaining. We knew too much and looked to rip apart everything he did.
Guest Brian Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 And if everyone wasn't on his dick in 2000, those matches wouldn't be looked at so highly. Same things true for anyone, if you can't eliminate the bias your view of the match will be skewed.

I give Bold & The Beautiful ****1/2. 1/2* off for the ending.

Guest Megatron Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Opinions are like assholes. Everyone's got one Hey, you stole that from me!
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Your brother-in-law is not an idiot. Respect his opinins and everyone should be happy. Talk about movies for now on.
Guest hunger4unger Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Despite his political games and recent lack of dcent matches, remember HHH WAS one of the most over heels ever in the history of WWE during 2000/01. Also remember that throughout that time period he busted his ass and put on some amazing matches. It's in vogue to hate HHH, and I agree that he is an asshole, but to deny his talent, especially during 00/01 is being blinkered.
NoCalMike Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Even before my internet days, there were some pushed wrestlers that I still found boring, even though they were pushed. I just didn't dislike them like I do now for knowing what pieces of garbage they are as people.

Is my soon to be brother-in-law an idiot when it comes to wrestling? 1) Your soon to be bro in law has his own opinions 2) every one has a different fave wrestler 3) I would'nt say Triple H is the Best, But I do think he is a good worker... But Backstage politics ways Triple H is only looking out for himself.... But then he does have to protect his spot. 4) Triple H is a good worker, but not as good as he used to be. 5) I'm a half mark/ half Smark....... so sue me 6)
TheFranchise Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Triple H > Tommy Dreamer. Would you start a thread if he said his favourite was Dreamer?
Guest CronoT Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Triple H > Tommy Dreamer. Would you start a thread if he said his favourite was Dreamer? I only started that thread because I disliked how Tommy Dreamer was punked out to the World's Dumbest Fat Ass.
Guest JRE Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 So, what do you think? Is my soon to be brother-in-law an idiot when it comes to wrestling? A Triple H mark, huh? Well, I dunno what to tell you Shane...
Guest netslob Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I also got into another small discussion about how he said The Rock was a horrible wrestler, and how all his movies are pieces of garbage. he's apparantly not THAT stupid...
