Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 I think the difference was that Buffy didn't really know how to kill them before But Anya's not-so-shocking info was just that they can be staked, which Buffy had been doing for like years. Buffy tried to stake it before and it no sold. Then Anya says they can be staked...it's just harder, and suddenly they're jobbers. Whatever... I hate the final battle. I thought the no-selling and general badassyness of the first Ubervamp had something to do with the ritual used to summon it, myself. My favorite Season Seven eps are CWDP and Storyteller as well. All people are doing is saying "I liked such and such an episode" and I don't think anything's been severely spoiled in here. Guest croweater Report post Posted November 29, 2003 I rate season 5 as the best season. However, I haven't seen 2 and 3 in ages, and I want to rewatch season 7. Without Hush season 4 would have been almost a complete throwaway, but the good thing about buffy is that almost every episode in every season (minus some of season 6) has something relevant to other seasons. I watched a bit of season 6 the other day and was amazed when they refered the invisibility thing back to season 1 with the invisible girl. Buffy has amazing continuity. I felt that, with a few exceptions, Season 2 was over-rated. "The Gift" had me in tears at the end, and any show that can make me cry puts it at the top of the list, which is why 5 is my favorite season. And the continuity is always great in the show. Different matter, for some reason watching most earlier episodes is just weird and I can't get into them as much. It annoys me actually because I loved characters like Doyle and old Cordy, I probably will always rate AtS above BtVS but one thing Ats has against it is that it just doesn't age as well. I believe the season wasn't as strong as 3 because Angel just started. This was the first time Joss had to work on two shows, so his mind wasn't into Buffy that much. Everything continues in some way. The storylines lead to other storylines, but that doesn't diminish the worth of the seasons themselves.
