Guest X-X-X Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Why don't I see wrestling at 7am? Crock of shit, I say.
Guest ravman77 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 I set the TiVo, bloody landscape show! No wrestling listed at all... The official website www.thewrestlingchannel.tv said it should have been an hour of NOAH with ROH/FWA show Frontiers of Honour tonight at 7pm. Not the best of starts
Garth 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 I was too also annoyed with the no wrestling this morning, but i have just finished watching Irish Whip Wrestling at 4 this afternoon on 268, i'm guessing there was a few bugs this morning or something along the lines, but the schedule has been changed on sky to list FWA Wrestling at 7pm tonight. Guest X-X-X Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Ah, crap. I missed both of those shows. Boo.
IWD 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 I noticed that they didn't do anything to censor the "Shut the fuck up" chants on FWA vs RoH. OK.
Garth 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Missed Frontiers of honor as i was at work. Any good? And also i was wrong earlier about it starting properly in April its actually March.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2003 How much of Frontiers of Honor did they show? Hopefully they got the good matches like Christopher Daniels vs. Jody Fleisch and A.J. Styles vs. Jonny Storm.
Guest Vitamin EC Report post Posted December 2, 2003 They're spreading the whole thing over three shows. AJ versus Storm should be at the start of the next show hopefully.
Guest X-X-X Report post Posted December 2, 2003 I'm glad they haven't gone overboard and censored shit. Seeing guys busted open at 7am is pretty cool. Even if the sound goes for about 30 minutes of the show. Japan tomorrow. Huzzah.
Garth 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2003 Huzzah Indeed!
Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted December 2, 2003 Did the sound come back on? as i turned of because of it. Noah - does any one know what time frame it is starting from?Im taking a guess it will be from when Doug Williams started as they wanted shows with a British star for when the channel started. Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted December 3, 2003 No, it cut out from the first advert break and never came back. I skipped on a couple of times, but the poor VQ and poor wrestling weren't enough to keep my attention. Any idea what federation that was? It was around 1984, and had Jerry Lawler and the Road Warriors...
Guest Markingout Report post Posted December 3, 2003 Lawler in 84? It probabley was USWA or a Nashville fed. Lucky Brits. I want this channel badly.
Guest X-X-X Report post Posted December 3, 2003 The sound went again this morning but only for about two minutes. My first glimpses of NOAH. Scorpio, Modest, and Misawa (or something extremely similiar [as I said, never see this stuff before, but his name sounds familiar]). To be honest, I don't know what I think of it. Stiff as hell, and the referee seems completely useless. As double team moves and "cheating" go on infront of him and he just shouts. Like the kid no one paid attention to at school. Just nice to see something different, really.
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted December 3, 2003 I caught a little NOAH this morning, in my 7am haze. I was a little surprised that they didn't dub the commentary, although that may change with the "real" channel. Irish Whip Wrestling tomorrow, which had better be an Irish fed with a funny name, and not an American fed with a shitty one...
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted December 3, 2003 http://www.thewrestlingchannel.tv/forums/i...p?showtopic=216 Apologies for the loss of sound during the Classic Wrestling again. The same thing happened this morning during the 7am broadcast - but in a different segment. Remember that these are TEST broadcasts, and we are trying a few different methods of play-out, and still working some bugs out of our system. I assure you that this will not happen when the channel launches.
Vanhalen 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 Man I just fucking love this channel, just to wake up at 7am and instead of watching crappy breakfast tv, to watch FWA/NOAH and more to come is awesome
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted December 3, 2003 BIG update for you all... Cite Anything that I have left out is either confidential, still being decided, or unknown at this point. 1) The Wrestling Channel will launch in Mid-March 2004 (as already stated on the homepage). 2) It is being run by a London based TV company, with all production offices in Dublin. There are NO jobs available, so please stop sending me PM's. 3) We hope to show 25 hours of NEW material each week, in addition to repeats - so you won't miss a thing! 4) It will ONLY be available to SKY Digital viewers and is Free To Air. 5) We aim to bring you the best wrestling form around the world - past and present. Anything that is available (and good) will be shown. This does not include any of the WWE owned libraries, which currently consists of: WWE, WCW, ECW, OVW, SMW, AWA and Stampede. We aim to bring you EVERYTHING else. 6) We DO intend on starting a weekly news show with the week in review/preview, special guests and speakers, and competitions and phone-ins. That's all the information we can give you at present. 7) The FRIENDLY TV test runs consist of 10 hours of new material in total (for those of you who keep asking), and will run for the month of December. Please show your support and watch as much as possible, but do not record any of it, as it's illegal to do so!!!! 8) We DO intend on showing ALL worthwhile previous shows (in full) from the last few years, so you won't miss out on any action. 9) It will NOT be a subscription channel. 10) The way the programming will be shown is as follows: If "Promotion X" does 1 show every month that runs for 3hrs+, we will split it into 4x45min shows over 4 weeks. That way, you will have a weekly dose of each fed. 11) Programming will not be censored or cut WHERE POSSIBLE - it will just be on after the watershed. Daytime repeats will be censored. 12) There are no plans to show any MMA. However, that could always be a possibility somewhere down the line. 13) The name of the channel is "The Wrestling Channel", not the "Combat Channel". 14) It will not be 24 hours. It will be minimum 8hrs per day. 15) It will be on the "Sports" EPG. 16) There will not be English commentary on the Japanese and Mexican tapes. There would be no way of achieving this without lowering the in-ring and crowd noise, thus killing the atmosphere, as the Japanese commentary is embedded onto the tape and cannot be removed. But people still need to know what's going on, right? We decided that the best thing to do is put English narration before each match, telling people about who the wrestlers are, and a background of any running storylines or fueds. 17) This is not a low budget channel, and will look as professional as any other top channel on air today. All content will have to meet certain production quality standards. 18) We will NEVER show or endorse Backyard Wrestling. 19) A "specific" list of programme providers cannot be released at this time. 20) We know wrestling, and we will not make a mess out of this channel. DON'T WORRY - Just Spread The Word, and WATCH IT!
