The Sharkport 2 and the X-Port are the exact same thing, just done by different publishing companies (the actual developer is the same).

Basically, you install the PC disc on your computer, then put your PS2 disc in your PS2 and run the PC program. You connect an included wire from the USB port on your PS2 to the USB port on your PC. This allows you to send files from your PS2 memory card to your computer's hard drive.

Now, people will post files like, say, a create-a-wrestler for Smackdown on the internet somewhere, you download it to your computer then send it to your memory card through that process. Sharkport 2 files use .sps as their extension and X-Port files use .xps as their extension, but all you have to do if you have a program different from the file format you're downloading is change the extension when you save it. It will still work.

So, for example, if a CAW you want is in Sharkport 2 format of .sps and you have an X-Port, you just need to save the file as caw.xps instead of caw.sps, and it will still work.

That explain it all?

The software that comes with the Sharkport is broken, from what I read, and the update isn't available anymore.

If you have a modded playstation 2, look for MCloader, burn it to a disk with your memory card files and it'll copy it to the memory card for you.

It's around, just gotta find it. I did. Just Google search for "Sharkport fix" and you'll find it.
