NBC only has the rights to Notre Dame home games. I'm assuming that ABC has broadcast rights to the Big (L)East.

Okay it isn't...but I'm lying. Notre Dame controls the world don't ya know? Also it will be completely unopposed by any other game on any other channel. Lucky us?

Army/Navy......THE game. If i ruled the world THAT would be in primetime not some conference championship game.

Agreed. Who cares if both teams overall have sucked for the last decade (though Navy stepped it back up this year)

First, these men will go on to do a great service for our country.

Second, their intensity for this game means a lot of heart will be going into this. Unlike other colleges where players can up-and-out into the pros, these men are in the football trenches for five long years, which means feelings run deep.

Hats off to both teams.

Go Oregon State!

(wants to see LSU [sEC REPRESENT!] against Oklahoma, as well as the outside chance of Tennessee getting moved up to #6 in the BCS somehow)

Some talking head on ESPN made the assertion that USC would beat LSU by three touchdowns if they played. Yeah fucking right.

Oh yeah and who wants to bet that in the Big XII championship OU runs up the score in the first half to an absurdly high amount...then gives up in the second half.

Kotz, the dream is over. Even if Tennessee moves up in the BCS, nobody's gonna take them over Miami or Ohio State. They're not a big-money program this year.

And I keep thinking about what OU did to Texas. Poor K-State.

Miami's got an automatic bid. The question's whether Tennessee can get an At Large over Texas or Ohio State and I think the answer is no.

BCS Bowl predictions-

Rose- Michigan vs. USC

Fiesta- Texas vs. Fl. State

Orange- Miami vs. Ohio State

Sugar- Oklahoma vs. LSU

Dude your crazy. Both LSU~!! and USC could beat OU. OU is definately #1, but they are beatable.

Yes they are beatable. But I'm saying that for the National Championship OU is coming with there work boots on and Jason White's going to be on top of his game the entire game. OU won't run up the score and then lay down like they may do in the Big XII. They'll score at every possible opportunity. That 77 points they had against A&M may just happen again. Now I'm sure USC or LSU wouldn't have 0 points but I'm saying that OU really IS that good. And they really are the best team in the country. And that if they are there and trying harder than they ever have...it'll take a damn miracle to beat them.

Whoops, mistyped. I know Miami had the automatic bid, I meant to put Miami and Ohio State, implying that Ohio State would get picked over Tennessee because of the "REMATCH!" hype.

So most people in the news media -and here - are pretty much assuming that LSU is going to get past Georgia again. The Bulldogs have been underperforming most of the year, but man, to be #6 in the country and patently dismissed kinda blows. I imagine the BCS execs are rooting for GA so they can just get a nice, clean finale without controversy. From where I sit, the best answer to USC/LSU is to put them in a cage and let them slug it out Thunderdome style.

The reason that Georgia's being dismissed is that their offense will have trouble unless their linemen suddenly get better overnight. It's hard for their quarterback to throw when he's knocked on his ass, which is what happened for 90% of the Georgia-LSU game early in the season.

On top of that, the LSU offense is really clicking at the moment. The only two bad offensive games they've had all year were Florida (loss) and Ole Miss (close win), and I'd blame part of the Ole Miss troubles on bad field position, which allowed Ole Miss to go up early due to an INT thrown by Mauck deep in LSU territory and frustrated them all night.

BTW- If the only available BCS bid is in the Orange Bowl against Miami, Tennessee is completely screwed because they played, and beat, Miami about a month ago. No one likes to see rematches from earlier in the season in their bowl games, let alone ones as lopsided as that one was.

The emphasis on that is that they did it against Texas A&M... This season, that's like saying you did that against Louisiana Tech or Louisiana-Monroe considering how bad A&M's defense is. LSU put up 49 by halftime against Lousiana Tech then pulled all the starters to keep from running up the score more than they needed to.

The real question Oklahoma has is whether their vaunted offense can stand up to a good defense, as they had serious trouble with a Bama team that wasn't NEARLY as good as people thought it would be. Facing a defense equal to their own may frustrate them to the point that they make bad decisions and literally throw the game away.

In 2001, Tennessee, the #4 team in the country, was expected to lose by anywhere between 14-17 points (depending on whose line you looked at), at #2 Florida. We all know how that ended. If that isn't some unjust dismissal, I don't know what is. LSU is only giving three points to Georgia, according to the oddsmakers.

(wistfully sighs and remembers the GOTY runner-up for 2001)

OU's proved that they can beat good enough teams. They took Texas and OSU to town and some people thought OSU had the mental advantage.

OU's got such a good offense that I really thing it'd take a hardcore good denfense to completely shut them down. Then OU's defense is just as good as there offense. Jesus they had 5 interceptions against BJ Symons...a man who many were calling a great quarterback. He nearly had as many in one game as Jason White has had all season.

Even if the defense can hold OU to say 2 touchdown's a quarter on there normal drives the defense can still pick the ball up and probably even score with it.

Face it....OU is that good. It'll be interesting to see how good another great team does against them but they are so far ahead of everyone that I think it'd take OU getting to cocky and not bringing the goods for them to lose. And after everything I've seen and heard this year...they aren't going to do that.

I'm pretty much the complete opposite. I love watching a team completley dominate the opposition. Just something about the very best rising to the top, and showing why their so good.

Definitely. A 21 point margin isn't large enough. The spread would be at least 45-14.

White will be on top of his training table with SC's D-Line bearing down on him. Dude's gonna be hobbled. The Wild Bunch II will get to Mr. Immobile 3 times.

You're right. They just won't get that many opportunities.

That 77 points they had against A&M may just happen again.

What are you smoking? Can I get some of that?

They certainly are the best. But they'll have to prove it, on the field.

So if OU wins the national championship(which they will) will people still be doubting them as the best team in the nation? I mean what exactly do they have to do to shut up the naysayers?

Hell I still think they're the best college team ever period. But that's more up to what you look for in a team.

And just to remind you...there IS a reason why they are the #1 team in the nation and have been all year.

Admittedly, I haven't watched a single USC game this season. With that out of the way, have you seen LSU play? The game would be a barnburner between the two, but I say LSU would win out.

According to ESPN.com, there's even a chance that USC could rise to #1 in the polls and get shut out of the BCS. Maybe THAT would be enough to bring this whole damn system crashing down around everyone.
