bob_barron Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 SK, Dames, Dave Meltzer, Wade Keller, myself, the people in the movie theatre at Famous Players, the people at the board. People seemed to like it. I liked it too
Lord of The Curry Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Too bad it will mean dick all in the long run when Austin returns in a month.
bob_barron Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 It may mean dick all when Austin comes back (sigh) but it still was a great match. Why should we sign a petition for Austin anyway? He got himself into this mess- it's his fault
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Yeah, but you liked this angle... *C*O*N*T*I*N*U*I*T*Y*
bob_barron Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Are you referring to WHEN FACE DIVAS LOVE HEEL WRESTLERS? I like it and hope I continue to like it after next week. If they go for the ass creme route I will be dissapointed but eh- I'll live
Guest Anglesault Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Angle v. Cena- I was feeling it until they had Angle dressed up as Cena and the midget dressed up as Angle. I was mildly interested until the first rap off in July. I gave it a shot until the second rap off once the feud officially began. The midget came at a time when I had already given up. I enjoyed the matches that came from it and the buildup to WM You... Liked the Mania build up?
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I'm refering to Trishes-on-going-quest-for-love and Jericho-walking-the-line-of-face-and-heel, yes... which the WWE does every other month, it seems.
bob_barron Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I don't get SD! so my friend tapes it for me and I get it 6 weeks later so I knew all about Angle-Cena- I didn't mind the rapoffs since I like Cena's stuff but the midget stuff was way too confusing. It made my head hurt. Yes AS- I think we've established that I enjoyed the buildup to Wrestlemania.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Um... Why? I mean, I was a pretty big defender of the feud - but it broke down in the end and overall was poorly booked. (Angle vs. Brock, that is) And Cena vs. Angle was DOA - ever since Angles first rap and saying "you're whiter than me".
Damaramu Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 You know. Isn't it kind of scary how RavishingRickRudo called that this was EXACTLY how this angle was going to play out more or less? 1. It was blantantly obvious this was going to happen. 2. Focus groups have been telling Vince his audience is now beginning to include females ages 12-24. 3. This is the most cliche, over-done storyline in TV and movie history. Vince has long since become just a parrot, repeating every stupid thing he sees. Are you saying that RRR can't see the future? I'm saying once you've seen enough pop culture and/or wrestling, you can predict just about anything that will happen, even how a storyline will come to a head, and maybe even how it will end. I've been watching wrestling for 13 years...and I didn't think they'd be this dumb. Then you obviously haven't been watching enough wrestling or sappy teenage TV shows or movies. You also don't quite grasp how bad Vince and the writers have become. Don't tell me I haven't been watching enough wrestling. It's pretty much all I watch aside from football. I have a whole wall of wrestling tapes. But you're right...I don't watch sappy teen romances because I'm not a teenage girl.
bob_barron Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I'll try to remember here- I liked how Brock went through everyone before WM to get to Angle. He took out Team Angle, Big Show, A-Train and then finally got Heyman. Angle decided to use his brains to counteract Lesnar's brawn- the match in Pittsburgh and attacking him behind and weakening him 3 days before WM knowing Lesnar's history of injured ribs. It was TV that I enjoyed watching
Guest Anglesault Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Yes AS- I think we've established that I enjoyed the buildup to Wrestlemania. We have? This isn't supposed to be sarcastic or anything, but do you just like "It's a matter of time" feuds? Where one guy clearly and totally out matches the other and the onlything saving the inferior guy is that he doesn't have to fight the guy one on one yet.
bob_barron Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Well back in March I remember liking it when you hated it. On Angle not getting physically involved- I wonder what they would've done had his neck not been beyond fucked- that killed 4 weeks of possible physical buildup. I do think Brock dominated a bit too much- Unless they were trying to suck up to the crowd with Benoit- having them go over at NWO was pointless
Guest Anglesault Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Well back in March I remember liking it when you hated it. On Angle not getting physically involved- I wonder what they would've done had his neck not been beyond fucked- Exactly what they did before that. Have Brock manhandle Angle and outsmart him at every turn.
Guest Anglesault Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Unless they were trying to suck up to the crowd with Benoit- having them go over at NWO was pointless It was pointless either way.
bob_barron Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 -- The Chris Jericho-Trish Stratus situation is far from over, with RAW's events to lead up to more twists and turns in the next few weeks.
Lil' Bitch Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I believe that Christian & Orton were the only ones to cash in the favour so far.. I could have sworn Steiner used his (for what I forgot). Henry, I'm not sure.
Guest Anglesault Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I believe that Christian & Orton were the only ones to cash in the favour so far.. I could have sworn Steiner used his (for what I forgot). Henry, I'm not sure. Steiner used his for a tag title shot. -- The Chris Jericho-Trish Stratus situation is far from over, with RAW's events to lead up to more twists and turns in the next few weeks. Thank you Mr. Announcer Man. Twists and turns SCREAMS Christian wearing Lita's thongs while in bed with Jericho in a French Maid's outfit or something "hilarious" like that.
Guest The Steel Dragon Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Okay First time poster LONG time lurker. Just had to add my $.02 worth. While I have compleate faith the WWE will somehow botch this pottentially(and to me currently) interesting storyline to hades. That having been said the TRUE mastermind behind the whole bet, the one that put Y2J,Xian,and V1 up to it is none other than......................Molly. After all she hates them both and what better way to mess with them even more then screwing with thier emotions? *shrugs* makes sense to me at least, of course Making sense and WWE are usually mutually exclusive. Here's hoping for a good ending to this and I for one hope it's not the WWE version of 'hilarity'.
Guest Anglesault Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 It already sucks. And it's better than the return of Ass Creme
