Guest Rade Report post Posted December 2, 2003 That's right, we finally have a true number two promotion. It was recently announced by the owner of The Wrestling Channel in the UK that they will be showing all TNA shows to date. I for one am overjoyed to hear this. What is your opinion of this news? Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted December 2, 2003 Well, for all the apologists, it means that I finally get to watch the stuff
Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 2, 2003 So, I guess this is good news despite the fact that it doesn't affect me at all. So, does this mean that I'll never get NWA:TNA on TV here in the US?
Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted December 2, 2003 No not at all Coffey. It's a unique deal with The Wrestling Channel, which has started a trial broadcast in the UK as a part of the SKY digital system. It has no affect on NA TNA's TV status in the US. If all goes well the UK channel will air "full time" from April. It's great news for wrestling fans in the UK and also means that I won't have to buy NWA TNA tapes anymore! Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted December 2, 2003 Nope
Guest Rade Report post Posted December 2, 2003 It is basically free, you don't have to have the Sports package to see it, which you need for WWE.
eirejmcmahon 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2003 I was under the impression that it was going to be a subscription only Digital channel.
Guest Basswitch Report post Posted December 2, 2003 EH...... They really need a US deal I hate paying for PPVs, espeshally ones like Last weeks.
Guest Rade Report post Posted December 2, 2003 Yes but you get it with the basic Sky package, which is basically free, as nearly everyone has it.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 3, 2003 I just read about WGN in talks to sign NWA:TNA to a tv deal? Anyone else read that?
Guest TDinDC1112 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 I just read about WGN in talks to sign NWA:TNA to a tv deal? Anyone else read that? Yeah, and WGN also talked to the XWF and wanted them air their specials (5 of them). They were only going to charge the XWF $60,000 to put them on their network! Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 3, 2003 Well, they say that Hart is behind it...and seeing as how he was behind XWF, it makes sense that he would still have WGN ties. It's really not that much money.
KTID 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2003 Yes but you get it with the basic Sky package, which is basically free, as nearly everyone has it. What Channel?
Fro 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2003 WGN is the best option for any wrestling fed wanting to get a cable deal. They're available nearly nationwide and have hardly any original programming at all anymore.
Garth 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2003 TNA Explosion is now being aired on the testing of the wrestling channel, which is damn cool.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 4, 2003 I actually like BPS' idea of NWA:TNA going to FX. WGN is fine too though, because I get that station. I just think that wrestling would benefit FX more than WGN. WGN doesn't have anything going it's way.

I just think that wrestling would benefit FX more than WGN. WGN doesn't have anything going it's way. Other than the Chicago Cubs/White Sox and the Bulls, WGN is basically a rerun channel. One of the problems with airing on WGN is TNA would get pre-empted alot by the Bulls and then the Chi-Sox and Cubbies in the summer months. FX doesn't have anything and they are still moving ahead with production of a Owen Hart movie.
