RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Yeah, they'd like... lift stuff... heavy stuff... a lot... I shouldn't show my ignorance; I've actually watched a few of those Worlds Strongest Man competitions and Samuelsson was the guy who really stood out amongst all of the competitors - he's one of the few guys I remember who weren't associated with wrestling. It would be very interesting to see him compete.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Going over the Sherdog MB they're talking about how Fedor, Cro Cop and Barnett are signing with Inoki or something, and how they're never going to fight in Pride again. Now I have two questions; isn't Inoki involved in the business side somehow with PRIDE, and are the people at Sherdog really that stupid?
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 1) He was until not that long ago, but is now in direct competition with them. Check out Zach's site to see how "friendly" they are now. 2) Yes, most of them. Me included.
Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Going over the Sherdog MB they're talking about how Fedor, Cro Cop and Barnett are signing with Inoki or something, and how they're never going to fight in Pride again. Pride have said that Fedor has an exclusive contract with them while Cop Cop doesnt so he can fight on Inoki's show,Barnett doesnt work for Pride.Inoki has a history of saying he has signed people when he hasnt so dont pay much attention to what he says. Brush with Greatness 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Courtesy Da Meltz: --Things are getting even messier in Japan as Pride has produced a contract signed by Fedor Emelianenko which is an exclusive deal through October. This is going to court. Management of Emelianenko and Mirko Cro Cop are saying that neither will ever work for Pride again. And courtesy of Puroresopower.com (and someone else here would know more about their credibility: (PRIDE) Management boss Nobuyuki Sakakibara held an angry press conference on Wednesday in Tokyo regarding the status of Emelianenko Fedor. Sakakibara threatened legal action against Nippon TV and Antonio Inoki. In addition, Sakakibara claimed that he would demand Fedor to remove himself from Inoki's show and for reparations due to 'breach of contract'. PRIDE claims that Fedor signed a 'monopoly' contract lasting until October of 2004. Sankei Sports newspaper on Thursday even hinted that PRIDE may go after Fedor's visa and cause problems for him entering into Japan. PRIDE is threatening to sue for 'hundreds of millions of yen'. Sakakibara is even threatening to use Government sanctions (through the Japanese version of the FCC) to go against Nippon TV. Interesting to say the least. Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 That's weird. Why would Fedor and Cro Cop want to leave PRIDE all of a sudden?
Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted December 12, 2003 NTV are bankrolling Inoki to start a big war with Pride and are throwing money around like WCW did to get all the big names,an example of NTV and Inoki's desire to get Pride fighters is that they have offered Overeem five times more than Pride are paying him. Guest Indikator Report post Posted December 12, 2003 If NTV continues to give Inoki their money MMA will really get interesting in the next months
Brush with Greatness 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 And this is barely newsworthy with all the Inoki-Pride shit going on right now, but Carlos Newton is officially making his return to the UFC. Da Meltz: --UFC made the official announcement of Carlos Newton vs. Renato Verissimo for the 1/31 UFC show from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted December 15, 2003 Cro Cop is out of new years eve.I guess its for the best that he has some rest time. Here is what he has to say. "Today, I, Mirko Cro Cop, have an important message to announce. I have decided not to participate in any event as a fighter on Dec. 31st. I have been adviced by my physician, Dr. Bucan, to refrain from intense training for 2 weeks and to allow my back to recuperate from injury that has been bothering me for a while. I have decided to take his advice seriously this time and to nourish my body in order to fully recover and to prepare for 2004. From now on I will be communicating with any promoters directly, for year 2004. offers. I will be totally fresh mentally and physically next year, and I will fulfill my promise to become the champion and meet your expectations. Thank you very much for all of your support. Sincerely, Mirko Cro Cop" official website (mirko-crocop.com)
