Guest Ray Report post Posted December 5, 2003 Yeah, Benoit's match with Brad Armstrong was indeed pretty good. Haven't seen that one in a while though. I just got it off kazaa. Not watched yet...
Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 Benoit vs Eddie Guerrero "Black Tiger" Top Of the Super Juniors 96. I would chose this as Benoit's greatest match, placing it over the Sasuke JCup match. Much like Lyger/Samurai and Ohtani/Samurai, this match breaks away from the traditional junior formula to create something memorable and special. The body of this match features some of the most brilliant wrestling I've ever seen from anybody as Beniot draws the normally "dead for juniors" New Japan crowd into the match, and right into the palm of his hand, getting the reactions that he wants, when he wants. Beniot's repeated use of the Sleeperhold, gives him incredible heel heat, while at the same time, transforms Black Tiger into a uber baby face. Eddy's performances is incredible too, catching on to what Beniot is doing, he starts to epically sell the Sleepers while on offense, given Benoit plenty of openings to catch him with it again. This is the type of match that many of the WWE's current roster could learn from. Instead of letting the crowd control their actions, Beniot and Eddy control the crowd. Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted December 6, 2003 Yeah, Benoit's match with Brad Armstrong was indeed pretty good. Haven't seen that one in a while though. This is the match where Benoit despite being an unknown heel gets the crowd more and more behind him simply because anyone could tell his ring work was different and special. The springboard clothesline is one of the most beautiful moves in the history of wrestling. Jesse Ventura is pure gold here on commentary marking out for Benoit. Benoit and Brad Armstrong had another match in 1996 on WCW Pro or one ot the other lesser known WCW shows. The match was short but sweet. Armstrong and Benoit had pretty good chemistry. It makes me wonder what Steamboat vs Benoit would've been like because I can see their styles meshing extreamly well.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2003 Jesse Ventura is pure gold here on commentary marking out for Benoit. Gotta love Jesse. This is why he is IMO the greatest commentator ever, who else marks and puts over a new guy instead of ranting and raving about main eventers? When you need a new heel put over no one is better than Jesse.

Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted December 9, 2003 Some I didn't see mentioned: Benoit vs. Jericho- Super J Cup 95 Benoit vs. Jericho- Fall Brawl 96 Benoit and Angle vs. Edge and Mysterio- 2/3 falls from Smackdown Benoit vs. Rey Mysterio- from Smackdown very underrated IMO
Guest NCJ Report post Posted December 9, 2003 I love the Benoit/Malenko vs. Raven/Saturn match. The series they had going with those teams and Rey/Kidman reminds me alot of the Smackdown 6 series. Another match that Benoit had in WCW that I dig is the Halloween Havoc 96 tag match of Benoit/McMichaels vs Meng/Barbarian. I know that saying McMichaels was ever in a good match is a banable offense, but the match plays out perfectly. Benoit sells like a madman during the match and I don't know what was in Meng and Barbarian, but they hit some very cool moves including a HUGE top rope overhead Belly to Belly, a Powerbomb/top rope headbutt combo, and a Superplex/top rope big splash combo. One of my favorite matches from that ppv and probably the second best match on the card(Malenko/Mysterio was better).
Guest ligerbomb03 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 I really enjoyed Benoit-Jericho at Super J Cup 1995. Jericho and his potty mouth
