More ingenious booking ideas

Scott Hall is looking to make a ring return according to Kevin Nash and though he is past his prime he can draw some money. WWE is unlikely to take him back so what about this:

 

1. Shane Douglas reforms the Triple Threat with Douglas, Shane and Abyss giving Abyss the "star" rub and a good mouthpiece. You can have Abyss and Douglas feud with Raven and one time when Raven is getting beat up and the announcers saying there is nobody to help Raven since Punk and Julio will have probably turned on him, you can have Hall come out of nowhere to make the save. Raven and Hall can then form an alliance saying that they have their past "personal demons" in common. The fans would pop big for this and Raven and Hall would be over huge as fan favorites.

 

2. Bring D-lo Brown back as a heel and he can feud with X and the Truth. He can have a feud with Truth over who is the best black wrestler in TNA and a ladder and tables match with Brown and X would be off the hook since they both love to take crazy bumps and have good athletic ability for big men.

 

3. Bring in Daffney (Shannon Ward) who was just released by WWE to do a program with Trinity. Daffney paired up with someone like Sabin to feud with Trinity and Siaki or someone would be a decent midcard feud.

 

4. Bring in Dustin Rhodes in January when his contract is up. You can have Simon and Swinger doing a 2 on 1 beatdown on Dusty as the champions and then Dustin can come out and make the save setting up a Dusty/Dustin vs. Simon/Swinger match for the tag belts which the Rhodes team would win. Awhile into their championship reign, Dustin can turn on Dusty setting up their 1st father vs. son match.

1. I like the idea of forming some sort of alliance between Raven and Hall due to similar pasts, but this new Triple Threat idea sucks. First off, why would Abyss leave Callis? Callis treats him fairly well, and is always putting over how much Abyss is going to hurt the opposition. Shane Douglas and Michael Shane do need a third wrestler in their troupe, I agree, as somebody to carry the workload in the ring, but not Abyss. And one more Douglas/Raven match would make me lose my mind, because the last few sucked (although the promo's leading into every match were fantastic).

 

2. The only time a race angle ever worked was with The Truth, and that was...what? A 2 or 3 week long thing he commented on in his promo's? Feuding over who the best black wrestler in TNA is would be an awful idea, and feuding D'Lo with X would produce decent-at-best matches. If Truth is going to become a singles star again, then he needs to aim for the belt that was stolen from him last year: THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE. JJ/Truth produced two ***+ matches (IMO), and there's no reason they couldn't do it again.

 

3. No. Intergender matches suck if the women can't work. Trinity is good for a few spots (the Tornado Cross Armbreaker is insane, and her moonsault is pretty nice, but that's it), and Daffney is best used as a valet/manager (since she's SHIT in the ring). Besides, Trinity and Siaki are probably going to part ways due to Siaki's ego (I never though I'd MISS Sonny Siaki on my TV, but I do), and if she were to align herself with anybody, it should be somebody that can make her a face again. Although she's awesome as a heel, she'd be better as a face, since the "risk-taking femme fatale" schtick only works for faces (see: Lita).

 

4. They tried this with Dusty/Dustin vs. JJ/Flair in WCW. It produced two decent promo's (one by JJ/Flair, and one by Dustin the Nitro before Greed), and a shitty match that was ALL Flair and Jarrett. The less Dusty Rhodes in-ring, the better. Dustin, if WWE is stupid enough to let him go, should come into TNA, if he so chooses, as just a goofball character (because that's what he's best at).

 

But hey, cheer up, sport. At least you gave us more than a roster this time.

I already mentioned a Rhodes Family tag team idea in a thread a while back, though I had AMW turning heel on Dusty to set that up.

Raven is a perfect plucky underdog I reckon, so this idea would actually be really good, but why not have Shane Douglas bring in CM Punk and Julio Dinero ?

They didn't draw great in their prime in the WWF. I don't think TNA will find the magic formula to make this work. They can't copy nWo as, well, they'll be sued out of existence.

 

WWE is unlikely to take him back so what about this:

Umm, what "rub" does Shane (Douglas) have to give?

"Best black wrestler in TNA" feud? Are there any other full-time black workers there? And do these feuds EVER work?

UGH! OK, I STILL don't get the Daffney love. She can't work, has never shown an ability to work a mic, and is nothing special.
