Tawren 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 As someone who phased in and out of wrestling for the last five years, which Austin-Taker match was the one that was the highest rated match ever? Night after KoTR 99.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted December 10, 2003 JR: False. It was extremely entertaining, but I’m more entertained by wrestling than talking. I’m an old-school guy ::head explodes::
Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 10, 2003 I never liked Gordon Solie. I liked Gorilla Monsoon a lot better. Especially when he was paired with either Bobby Heenan or Jesse Ventura. It just made him that much better.
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Jesse Ventura owns all in commentating, followed by Gorilla. Their two-man commentatin tandem was one of the most entertaining aspects of the Hulkamania era.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Thanks for the translation there, Rudo. Why did I say "fuck JR"? Two Words: Nathan Jones. If that doesn't prove that Ross has lost his grip on reality, I don't know what does.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 Jesus, he doesn't talk about football nearly as much to warrant such bitching about it.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 JR on Wrestling: JR: False. He’s such a great athlete, and he’s so young. He could decide to come back on a more full-time basis in two years, and get right back in the hunt. JR: False. It was extremely entertaining, but I’m more entertained by wrestling than talking. I’m an old-school guy. JR: False. That honor belongs to Gordon Solie. The rest of us are playing for No. 2. JR on Football: JR: False. Not according to the BCS poll. They have a great team? Absolutely. They deserve to play for a championship? Good argument. But the argument is between USC and LSU. Oklahoma is 12-1. They played a tougher schedule than the other two teams. They were No. 1 for 14 weeks. Of course, I’m biased. So USC’s issues are between them and LSU. And who’s to say USC’s going to beat Michigan? JR: False. Jeremy Shockey. Ada, Oklahoma. Farm boy. Wasn’t raised with the opportunities Kellen Winslow had. I think Shockey’s got the intangibles that are going to make him the best tight end in football. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 And, of course, you'd have to not be a football fan to truly understand how annoying it is. *Looks at McFeels Sig* So, yeah... WWE is for Wrestling fans, not football. If a wrestler played football, JR will mention it in his broadcast. "Smashmouth" is a football term which JR used _at least_ a dozen times on Raw 2 weeks ago, often twice in one sentence. The guy gave football references and kept tabs on the sooners in his Ross report.
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 That's it, J.R. should petition the signings of football stars such as Shockey, Terrell Owens, Ray Lewis, and other loud players with ATTITUDE~! He'd blow his load over their athleticism.

Guest netslob Report post Posted December 11, 2003 "Smashmouth" is a football term which JR used _at least_ a dozen times on Raw 2 weeks ago, i thought it was a band...
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Hmm, now everything is starting to make sense. Smashmouth = Bad Band from late 90's. Smashmouth Wrestling = Bad Wrestling from late 90's.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Am I the only one who could be watching RAW and JR will say either "played football in college for..." or "this is a smashmouth battle.." and suddenly remember that Monday Night Football is on? RAW fans who are watching a bad RAW do NOT need to be reminded that MNF is on at the same time. How well would Smackdown work if Michael Cole talked about CSI and Friends during the telecast? RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Which is why the rumour about the WWE signing the Survivor Wrestling fan has me a bit puzzled as well - "You know, when I was on Survivor, I annoyed a lot of people but it was all for a good time" "Hey, that reminds me, Survivor is on!" - Fan. "Oh, this is just like when Chandler caught Rachel naked in the shower and Monica came in and then Joey said "Mama Mia!" - Michael Cole on Billy Gunn, Torrie Wilson and Jamie Knoble, Nidia love square. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Very courteous AND honest. Something that the WWE certainly is not, but should aspire to be. "And Now, a public service announcement from the WWE." *White background* *The Rock walks out* *Looks at the screen* "What the hell are you doin still watchin this show? Jesus Christ man, you CRAZY? Here, let's look and see what's on here" *Rock picks up remote control* *Screen/Station changes* *Rock narrates* "See, the Discovery Channel! You can learn stuff about African Rhinos and Canadian Elk. Or how about Will and Gracie? Oh that Jack, will he EVER learn? Ok, here we go, now we're talkin - SEINFELD RE-RUNS! Ooooh this is season 6 - a gem. Look, look, look! George is at the table, and, and... YES! The golfball! Look at Kramers face! Oh MAN, you're just stupid to watch our show!" *Screen changes to the Rock* "So there ya go, be like The Rock and ditch this pop-stand before they drag you down with em" *Star flys across screen*
