I actually have a copy of the handheld version of this show (minus the Putski-Sharpe match). Good stuff, actually.

But wasn't the reason Borga missed the PPV Rumble due to an injury in that match with Rick Steiner (an ankle if I'm not mistaken)? How did that happen, since I don't remember seeing Borga favoring his leg at all?

Yep, that was the reason given. I haven't seen the MSG show so I can't really comment - the info came from the Observer and from someone else who had a handheld copy.

I remember watching the match when it first happened on RAW. Damn that was a good match I was on edge the whole time seeing who was going to lose. I had it feeling it was going to be Flair.

You and me both. Flair and Perfect had been built up huge at that point - Flair twice holding the world title and Perfect just recently returning to action. IMO, they hot-shoted the blowoff but it still made for a memorable match.

Yeah and I remember the minute that Flair lost the match the first thing that popped in my mind was that Flair was going back to WCW you can count on it.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a copy of the first few Shotgun episodes from 97 (the nightclub versions)? As you can see from the 1/18/97 edition, my info is super basic.

The Big Bossman defeated Doink the Clown via disqualification after Doink sprayed Bossman in the eyes, temporarily blinding him

The WWF had the Legendary tenryu for 2 Tv Tapings and the best they could do was a dark match with Steve Lombardi?

I can tell you exactly where I was when Tatanka pinned Shawn (Kind of like my parents and JFK's murder kind of a deal) I distinctly remember playing with a mixture of WWF figures, He-man guys and AWA Remco wrestlers on a couch cushion that served as a ring. memories!!!

As far as Doink/bossman goes I remember reading about Bossman being blinded 2 weeks before the match aired - in a WWF magizine

The end of my mark daze were near...
