You've obviously put a lot of FAITH, Mike, in people who don't want to change.

No, I'm avoiding putting faith in crap "science" that has yet to be correct in the entire existence of it.

yet, you've put so much faith in the......bible!?! ;)

Without a second thought.

ANYTHING >>>>>> environmental pseudo-science.

-=Mike

well ok then, in that case your opinion is basically based on faith then, not fact, but besides that, I am not sure just what our role in the enviornment has to do with the bible anyway.

My opinion on environmentalism is based on its LONG history of UNBELIEVABLY inaccurate predictions and opinions. It's also based on the knowledge that the environment and Earth's climate is far too vast for us to even BEGIN to comprehend with our extremely limited time spent studying it.

Heck, does anybody have Crichton's diatribe in "Jurassic Park" about this? Not as long, but equally as devastating. I remember Rush had Charlton Heston read it on the air and it was actually really powerful.

Then again, Charlton could read "Penthouse Forum" letters and it'd sound powerful.

The hell would we be listening to Rush for?

Because he's brighter than almost the entire Democratic field (thankfully, Sharpton, Mosely-Braun, and Kucinich really lower the curve on THAT area) of candidates and considerably more consistent.

And the diatribe, as I stated, was in "Jurassic Park", which sold fairly well.

I don't think many people really came away from Jurassic Park thinking about environmental issues.

No, you don't --- but that passage was rather powerful.

If I recall correctly the passage went something like this:

Mankind is so obsessed with his place in the world. He could burn the earth to a crisp, and yet life would endure. life would find a way.

Ok. Fine.

I agree.

But I feel that I would like to look out for MY life and my FRIENDS and possible CHILDREN'S lives.

I did.

Man, that scene with the sick Triceratops had me thinking that if dinosaurs were still around crapping there wouldn't be any ozone left...
