Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 SWF Tuesday Night Frost and HOLT report December 16, 2003 Columbus, Ohio at Nationwide Arena Report by David Wills of Cleveland, OH, Smartmarks.com reader Frost: - Mike Van Siclen beat Xcalibur in 6:00 with the Cardinal Sin Clutch. - Ben Hardy conducted a backstage interview with Terrance Bailey. Terrance talked about how much it meant to him to regain the Hardcore Title, and how much it meant to finally defeat Wildchild, a guy whom he has had so much trouble with in the past. Hardy asked him how preparing for Va’aiga is different from preparing for Wildchild, and Terrance made a strange joke about Ben not knowing the difference between a swordfish and a shark, and said that Ben didn’t have enough sense to think his way out of a broom closet. He said that with Va’aiga he wasn’t going to bother with any of the finesse he used against Wildchild, and said that he would paint Columbus red with Maori blood. When asked whether or not we could see a return to the Hell Machine, Janus simply smiled and walked away. - Bemani Cross Wizards beat Michael “Spike” Spaster and Fugue in 9:50 when Ced pinned Fugue after the DDR Revolution. - Kevin Cole did a backstage interview with Ejiro Fasaki. Rule proclaimed that The Fight Before Christmas would be his finest hour, and that at the end of the night, the Ejiro Era will be ushered into the SWF. He claimed that winning the World Championship was his destiny, and declared that Flesher’s reign as champion was over. - Jamie “Jay Dawg” Drazon beat CIA in 16:44 with JD’s Avenge. - They did another video package, covering the whole PPV to close Frost. The Fight Before Christmas: - Cleveland native Tracy Chapman sang “America the Beautiful.” - Before the Hardcore Title match, Funyon directed everyone’s attention to a luxury box and recognized SWF Legends Lerrin Bregan and the Suicide King. They stood up to receive a standing ovation, but were instead met by a chorus of boos and a rousing chant of “King Sucks!” King looked visibly pissed, and gave the crowd the finger before walking away from the window. - Mak was in a real bad way after Thugg threw him off the stage; they couldn’t get the ambulance over to that part of the stage, and they couldn’t get the stretcher back onto the ramp. Eventually, they figured a way to elevate Mak back onto the stage through the use of cables and pulleys hanging from the rafters. This delayed the show by over fifteen minutes. - I got my sign on camera during the ICTV match. W00t! - A “WE WANT STRANGLER” chant started up after Strangler went backstage, and we were so loud with it that they basically couldn’t continue the show. We kept it up until Strangler came back out for an encore. He walked back down to the ring and took the microphone from Funyon. He thanked all of us for coming out to watch his final match. He told us that it was a privilege to perform for us for all these years, and that he wanted to thank each of us, from the bottom of his heart, for all the love that we showed him. This led us to start up a “WE LOVE STRANGLER” chant, and we gave him a standing ovation that went on for a good five minutes after he finally went backstage. - There was an unscheduled match to try and get the crowd calmed back down before the main event. Renegade beat Xero in 3:45 with the Renebreak. Anyway...since people are making me comment twice by creating a comment thread and not just using this, I will only make comments on the HOLT/Frost report. Good as usual...and all I have to say is... I'M BACK BABY!! #1 HEEL beeatches! Anyway...funny thing about the whole Hville stuff is that one day, X was over and we were playing some PS2 game and chatting about the fed. He basically said something to the effect of... (X) - Do you understand that not only do you have a character in the fed who's name is Hville Thugg, you had one of the best careers with that name? How in the hell did Hville get over as a wrestler's name? And I said... (HVT) - Holy shit...you're right. I hadn't thought about it because you and I have been using Hville for so long, it just seemed very natural. Imagine what people who saw it for the first time were saying... And then we started joking with the name... (X) - I mean, if you think about it...it's kind of a stupid name. (HVT) - Yeah, it is...and if someone else had a name like that, I'd definitely laugh at them. How in the hell did I go on for so long with a name like that? (X) - I dunno, but it's tight yo. It's really a dumb name though.. (HVT) - Yeah, it is...meh...whatchagonnado. (X) - I think you should just shorten it to Thugg... (HVT) - I pretty much do anyways... (X) - Or, just go by HVT...that's tight. (HVT) - Yeah...I think I will. Hville is kinda stupid...I can't believe I gave myself that name. (X) - Well, that's why I get all the chicks...cause you're a nerd who writes fake ass wrestling matches for a fake ass federation under the name of Hville Thugg. If you had a hot name like Xstasy, then all the chicks would want you... (HVT) - Hey...you're right. That's why I'm not gettin' laid right now...it's because of the Hville in my name. It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm just not a nice person in real life, or that I get bored with people real quick and just walk away without warning. It's all the name... (X) - Yep...but yo...for real...uhhhh...you lost the punchline for this whole segment a long time ago. Maybe you should just end it. (HVT) - I'd much prefer to ramble...perhaps people will keep reading, looking for the funny part. (X) - You can always just put a bunch of blank lines to build the suspense... (HVT) - Nah...I"m bored. I think I'll just end it. Yeah...so...that didn't go so well. But the first part was true about how we realized how stupid a name Hville is...especially to anyone who isn't from this area. So, yeah...that's how that happened. Back to the report...it makes me wanna go read the show. Good work...uhhh...dammit! Once again, I was successful at making an entire post about me with very little effort. I think that Strangler deserves a pass; after all, he wanted some feed back on his awesome match... and it was awesome, TBS. I especially loved the internal monologue during that final spot; priceless. I'm sure that he didn't want to wait until I had a chance to look at the show to get some much-deserved feedback. - The Puro God is back! w00t! - A special shout-out to Craven for putting me over much more than I deserved to be. - I don't like Hossamania... I hate it, in fact, but I have to admit that Janus/Va'aiga match was pretty decent. I didn't skip to the end, which is probably the highest praise you'll ever get from me about a match between two three-hundred pounders. - Congrats to Grappler on the title win; I hope you realize, though, that you're just keeping that belt warm... - Thugg... you ain't right, man... you just ain't right... - Meanwhile, Ejiro once again proves himself to be the cream of the 0301 class (first bumpee class of 2003). Finished 2002 as the SJL World Champion. Finished 2003 as the SWF World Champion. You remember who took your last World title from you, right? [sidebar] Damn you, CC! This is all some kind of conspiracy to make me want to go after the World Title, isn't it? You know I can't turn down a shot at Ejiro! Grrrr....
