Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I don't follow Puro at all just about, but Ultimo losing the mask is like Jushin Liger going maskless and pissing on his career with that character. I just can't see it happening. I've seen the picture of Ultimo back in the day w/o his mask, and why Vince wants to market that face on T.V. is beyond me. Obviously, King Cucaracha doesn't understand how important a mask is to people outside the United States wrestling scene, a.k.a circus o' roided freaks. Like I said in other topics, arguing over someones opinions is like arguing with a wall. No matter how much you argue, or prove your point the other person will rebutt and argue back with his points. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 Hmm, do the people (person) who says Dragon going maskless is a good thing - did you think Dragon would have gotten a big push when he first debuted??? Putting your faith in Vince McMahon to do the right thing for Dragon - it's just stupid.

Putting your faith in Vince McMahon to do the right thing for Dragon - it's just stupid. Are you kidding Ultimo Got the most famous push of all. Here's Ultimo on Smackdown. Rey: He's a future contender Cole: He's held a lot of belts, and look at his in ring style, impressive! Tazz: Wow the match is over, and look at Rey go shake his hand. And that was his mighty push. Now he's teaming up with the most bland cruiserweight ever on Velocity

Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I'm not as familier with masks in Japan as I am in Mexico. Is it just as big a deal over there as it is down south of the border?

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I'm not as familier with masks in Japan as I am in Mexico. Is it just as big a deal over there as it is down south of the border? I'm sure that they aren't THAT obsessed in the land of the rising sun, but they still respect wrestling traditions like in Mexico. Not like the Circus promotions with Roided Monsters. Has Hayabusa every unmasked after a stipulation, and wore it again in the same place?
Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 What in the world is wrong with the picture? Oh my God, it's a Japanese dude without a mask on, ewwwwwwwwwwww!
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted December 22, 2003 What in the fuck is wrong with the picture? Oh my God, it's a Japanese dude without a mask on, ewwwwwwwwwwww! I just think the point is how do you market that look? With the mask he has the cool presence of his shiny ring attire and dragon-esque look. Without hes just another japanese guy along with Tajiri, Akio, Sakoda, Funaki, and any others I forgot. And one "Mask v. Whatever" match happened 6 months ago, and Kane still hasn't gotten the title in his UBER-PUSH. What makes anyone think Ultimo will get any kind of push? Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted December 22, 2003 (edited) If WWE force Ultimo Dragon to remove his mask, I will never watch their programming again. I said the same thing when Mr. Perfect beat Kerry Von Erich for the title by cheating and when Bigelow slipped on a bannana peal in the Survivor Series. And I'm still here as that only lasted for a few months or so. Just when you think you're out, you get pulled right back in. Curse Benoit. Curse Eddie. Why couldn't you have just stayed in Japan? Why? Why? Why? Why? ****Cries**** -----Was able to avoid most of the horrendous Attitude era---- What's wrong with Perfect beating Von Erich? Von Erich was about 2 years away from suicide anyway. I was just sick of unclean endings and the sideshow attractions during matches. All I wanted back them was clean cut finishes and loses. As a matter of fact, I still do. Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I'm not saying I like the idea of him loosing the mask, I hate it with all of my being just as most others here do. I'm just currious why some here have acted like him without a mask in that picture is vomit inducing, that's all. I still can't believe that they have use Ultimo Dragon at all really. I mean...it's Ultimo Dragon, I just don't understand it at all.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I still can't believe that they have use Ultimo Dragon at all really. I mean...it's Ultimo Dragon, I just don't understand it at all. "Well Ultimo, for Smackdown, after factoring in my two segments, two segments with Morgan and Jones, two segments with Sable, two segments with Torrie, and two segments with people who aren't you, we've just decided there's not enough time on Smackdown for you"
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 You don't understand how Ultimo "I-keep-getting-pops-despite-not-being-in-a-storyline-ever" Dragon doesn't have anything to do in the WWE?? ... Yeah, me either.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 Well, that's pretty much true. But, to me Ultimo Dragon is a Pro. Wrestling legend. Not just some chump off the streets from another fed, but a living legend. They gave him a great buildup, a one night of what looked like MIGHT be the START of a push, but they just ceased what they were doing right then and there. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted December 22, 2003 He's 1 of a few reasons I rarely watch Velocity. The other is Sean O'Haire, and to see anything from SD I wanted to tape but didn't.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I didn't find Dragons build-up to be very good. It seemed like a cheap imitation of Rey's from the year previous. You could pretty-much-well-tell by his opening theme that he was doomed (Standard Japanese Music, "dragon" sounds *shudders*)
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 Any smark who has faith in Vince to do the right thing with a cruiserweight needs to have their smark credentials re-examined And before anyone brings up ReyRey, I have two words: Stretcher to ringpost

You could pretty-much-well-tell by his opening theme that he was doomed (Standard Japanese Music, "dragon" sounds *shudders*) Touche.
