Here are two great deals on video games...

Recommended Posts

I first found out about both of these at CheapAssGames.com but I went to both stores today and they are indeed having great deals.

Circuit City:

Here is a quick listing...

Xbox

Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions $5

Capcom vs SNK 2 EO - $10

Shenmue II - $10

Jet Set Radio Future - $5

Sega GT 2002/JSRF - $0.01 (some CC might not let you buy this)

Red Faction 2 - $15

Murakumo - $5

Alter Echo - $10

Sega NBA 2K3 - $10

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance - $15

NCAA College Football 2K3 - $10

Quantum Redshift - $10

BloodRayne - $20

Serious Sam - $20

Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX 2 - $5

Xbox Exhibition Disc Volume 4 - $5

Freaky Flyers - $10

PS2

Haven Call of the King - $5

Alter Echo - $10

WWE Crush Hour - $5

BoF: Dragon Quarter - $10

Wild Arms 3 - $ 10

Defender - $10

Treasure Planet - $10

Amplitude - $20

Ape Escape 2 - $20

Tenchu 3 - $15

Zone of the Enders 2 - $15

Shinobi - $10

Gungrave - $10

Xenosaga - $20

The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 - $9.99

Gitaroo Man - $20

RTX Red Rock - $10

GC

WWE Crush Hour - $5

Resident Evil - $20

Wave Race - $10

Red Faction 2 - $10

DreamCast

Mat Hoffaman’s Pro BMX - $10

GBA

Drome Racers - $5

...that isn't ALL of the deals, but it's just the ones that I found listed so far. When you go to the store, they'll be priced wrong, so you have to take whatever game you are interested in and ask someone to do a price check scan for you.

KBToys:

The deal here is that many Kay-Bee Toy stores around the US are either totally closing down or they are just getting rid of all of their video games. I think the deals vary from store to store, so check out this thread for more information. Some stores have 20% off of ALL games, others have 50% off of ALL games, and other stores just have a bunch of games for very low prices like at Circuit City.

...I just thought I'd share this, and if any of you pick anything up then let me know.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

So according to some stores, WWF Wrestlmania Challenge for NES is worth the same as Crush Hour on PS2/GCN

Edit: Dang, waisted my 1,000th post on this worthless one.

It's OK, I was making reference that some stores sell old NES and SNES games for like $5-10 each and a game thats barely a year old is the same price.

The problem with the KB deal--most of the games are so damn expensive in the first place that you're better off just getting used copies.

Some of the brand new stuff you might score a good deal on, though. I'll check my KB up the mall, though.

My local CC also has the PS2 game Rez. Isn't that very very rare or something?

I deal in/trade games as a bit of a hobby, and I believe so, yes.

People have always complained to me about the prices at the KB stores, but at the one at the local mall here where I live, they are about the same prices as everywhere else. They have the $49.99 brand new games, $39.99 new games, the $19.99 "Greatest Hits, etc..." games, and so on and so on. When prices get cut everywhere else, the KB store does it also.

Maybe my KB is different, I dunno.

Well, aside from the Greatest Hits stuff, the one around here never cut their prices, and they'll have a rack of old PS1 stuff (WWF Attitude, some old soccer game STILL in the long box, and other junk titles for brand-new prices). They also have some Dreamcast stuff lying around nobody wants (no really good titles, I'm afraid).

On a side note, they're not quite as bad as the Blockbusters I've seen. I don't have any very close to me, but I'll run across their stores when going out of town. Couldn't believe it--USED PS2 Greatest Hits titles (that they'd rented out but opted to sell) for $22.99. That's some ballsy bull****. Still, one of the GH titles I saw was Simpsons Road Rage, which I didn't know was a Greatest Hits, because all the game stores around where I live (EB included) don't carry the GH version, so they charge full price.

(And yes, I do mean Road Rage and not Hit and Run in both cases. Road Rage is the Crazy Taxi ripoff released quite a while ago, not to be confused with the GTA ripoff released recently.)

Where 'bouts do you live? The Blockbusters around here don't even do that, they have great prices here also, heh.

DH: SW Pennsylvania, near the Pittsburgh area.

The Hollywood Videos are about as bad--charging brand new prices for used games.

The best bets for me are Gamestops, EBs, and CD Warehouses. There's also a little mini-chain called "It's About Games" that has fantastic deals: Link to the Past for SNES for $5.99 (all 16-bit for that price, including lots of great stuff; there were some Genesis games boxes and all too) all DC games for 10.99 and under, and a lot of hard-to-find Playstation 1 stuff for under 10 bucks each.

The Hollywood Video near here isn't that great for buying games either. It's not that their prices aren't good, they just don't have any at all aside froma few N64 and PSX games. It's pretty weird.

They have a DVD sale all the time, buy two used for $20, so that's "ok" I guess.

At EBGames, you can trade in 4 non sports/wrestling games for FF: Crystal Chronicles and a GC-GBA link cable. I think I'll pick up the $5 non-sports games (Wreckless, Haven, JSRf and something else that I could find for $5) and get FFCC for $20.

Most of those games suck, though. So that's why they're going for next to nothing.

Well, Xenosaga is on that list (20 bucks? HA!), but there are a lot of good titles there too, like Gungrave.

Gungrave is awesome, short but sweet and stylish as hell. Worth 10 bucks for sure.

And in news related to that, Gungrave OD will be released soon in Asia at the end of Jan so I'm thinking about preordering.

Circuitcity online doesn't even have some of these titles listed, unfortunately.

Gungrave OD? What's that, Ren?

Nice pickups, man. See, they have lots of good games for Xbox and PS2 (which I don't have) but very little for GameCube, and what they do have mostly sucks. Resident Evil is good, but $20 is what it goes for normally at most places and I already have the game. Red Faction 2 might be good, though... I heard good things about the first one.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say this before, but thanks Brent. You're like my favorite TSM member (aside from the ones I know outside this board). You always post shit like this to help us score great deals, and your fanatical love for wrestling and the optimism you have for all things related to it are a rare quality here, but one which I share and appreciate.

Red Faction 2 is my personal favorite First Person Shooter...ever. Not many feel that way, but to me it's the best of the best, I just freaking love that game.

Gungrave O.D (or overdose if you will) is the Sequel to Gungrave.

This time the stages will be much larger than before, there are new combo gunfire attacks, you can jump behind enemies and hide behind objects. It is also possible to interact with various background objects, such as exploding cars, show down objects from the ceilings, destroy pillar and walls, and leave bullet holes on the walls.

Also from the screenshots I've seen there seems to be another selectable character dressed in red which kind of looks like Vash from Nightrow's other creation Trigun. Since I've been following the new anime series per episode (being fansubbed everyweek) I’m in a very Gungrave mood.

Do you know how much the new Gungrave will be when it's released? I wish they'd release it at a really good price.

I loved the first one btw, very nice hardcore balls out brainless action, fun for all. :D

I'm preordering my import copy for 60 bucks, I'm not sure if it will be released in the US yet (which is why I'm going to import it to play it safe).

I could be wrong but would anybody know if there was a Gungrave soundtrack released? I just friggin love the music in that game

Oh, the new Gungrave will be released in the US, no doubt. There was a write up about it in one of the most recent video game mags that I am subscribed to, but I can't remember which one it was though.
