Hi wildpegasus, how you're doing?

 

I just came across this site as I was searching for a way to access the astroboy-online forum, which seems to be down sort of. I've forgotten I was even registered here, haha. Time moves on quite fast.

I've found myself browsing a little thru your topic, and I have to say: Great collection of Astro pics, keep up the good work!

 

Hopefully I will find the time for doing some more contributions than doing just one post a year. Oh well...

I've found myself browsing a little thru your topic, and I have to say: Great collection of Astro pics, keep up the good work!

I'm glad being able of keeping in touch with fellow Astro lovers. I was absent from the astroboy forums for quite a while since I was in medical care, so I really hope that Mark will settle this matter of misconnection sooner or later.

 

Meanwhile, I also might add some Astro pics in here (that is, if you don't mind). I've found myself watching the new series again recently, and again, there were certain scenes which almost brought tears to my eyes (ie Dr. Tenma holding his newly created robot son Tobio in his arms, etc.) Those scenes would deliver some superb screenshots.

You must be feeling a lot happier now that you're doing better. It's a great feeling when that happens.

 

 

Truth be known I've been a little hard (but not too much) on the new series but that's just because I fell so deeply in love with the 80s series and I much prefer the artwork from that one.

 

One of the coolest things about Astroboy is seeing how a similar story gets reenacted in each series such as the Snow Leopard (60s/80s, not sure about the 03 series) or the invisible robot (not sure about 60s but it was in the last 2 series)

 

You know I just thought of something. I'm not sure if I ever posted any "Jeter Mars" pictures in here before. I think I may have put a couple in but I can't remember. They also could have had some similar stories.

Are you doing okay lately? I'm nuked tonight as I was just at the gym working on shoulders and than jogging/running for an hour. Now it's catching up to me. The old joints.

 

Speaking of the astroboy forum do any of you guys know exactly what's up? Was their any warning beforehand or did it just suddenly dissapear?

 

Off topic some but I just watched the first episode of "Freaks and Geeks". Terrific episode and I was very impressed.

As for the forum, a whois on the domain indicated it expired on January 23rd... but it's still officially registered. I'm not sure of what that means. So yes, it was sudden. I'm even wondering if the owner is aware of it!

Thanks for the pics. Speaking of pics there was a super pic of Astroboy from a j-flick (is that what you call them?) posted long ago in this thread. It was a super big walking? Astroboy balloon? that you can see through an apartment room window. I went back to look for it but I unfortunately only found an "x".

I actually love the soreness (and the gradual dissapearance of it) you get from the gym. Keeps you feeling alive! There's a difference between soreness and being hurt though and one's always got to watch out for that.

 

You're a tough cat to be exercising a few times a week. I always hold great respect for people who do that. Myself, I don't even think I could live life without exercising. It's a part of me and I love the "you against you" battle that exercise promotes.

 

About the Astroboy forum -- Time will tell all. I imagine the owner will know sooner or later.

OMG, OMG!

This wellknown canadian Astroboy-maniac looks pretty familiar to me. Astro forever, how are you?

It's been such a long time, I'm so glad to see you again.

You don't have to be sorry for me at all, in fact I'm the one who has to apologise for letting you unaware about my whereabouts.

I'm pretty fine now and ready to participate on further online-fun with Atomü.

 

Soon we'll have the whole bunch of astroboy-forum members overhere. The astroworld keeps getting smaller and smaller and smaller....

 

And wildpegasus, you're definitely right about certain similarities of the new series with the 80's version. The most obvious one is 'Greatest Robot On Earth', but also followed by:

- 'Denkou' = 'The Lightray Robot';

- 'Robot Superexpress' = 'The Runaway Subway Train';

- 'A Robot Falling In Love' = 'Astro's First Love'; (not the same storyline though)

- 'Time Hunter' = 'The Time Machine'; (also not the same storyline)

Those are the ones I instantly could thinking of.

 

As for Jetter Mars, I remember about Atoman who had posted some pics on the astroboy-forums, and I'm sure Anapan has a lot on his ftp too.

Since you are talking about gyms - I myself just had begun taking Kung Fu lessons lately, mainly because to bring my weakened body into shape again, but definitely also because of the philosophical parts these lessons are providing. The mental aspect is claiming a big part in martial arts, so I'm hoping it will help to bring my physical as well as the psychical wellness on a better level.
