I think I'm going to buy a Game Cube

Recommended Posts

With my January 2nd check I'm finally going to get a little money that I don't have to put towards bills. So I think I might get a Game Cube. Sure I know X-Box is suppose to be the better system, but it's an $80 difference.

Game Cube owners...what's your take on the system? Judging by what I've see and what I've heard the Mario Kart game and Viewtiful Joe look like good buys, what else are? (although looking at Metroid I don't think I want to play it)

Thanks

Go for it. It's got Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, Animal Crossing, Soul Calibur 2 (With Link), Super Mario Sunshine, Smash Bros Melee, and a bunch of other games.

It's well worth it.

And you'll change your mind about not wanting to play Metroid within the first two minutes of playing it. Same thing happened to me.

There's also always the chance of EarthBound 2 coming to the GC.

WHat's Eternal Darkness?

I think I'm going to try Animal Crossing...everyone tells me that it's way addictive.

For Soul Caliber I think I'd rather get it on my PS2...if I get it at all (I loved the first on my DC)

Mario Kart, Zelda, and Viewtiful Joe I think are good buys. I plan on getting those for sure.

Smash bros is a must if you have friends. :) Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 are way underrated and are some of the best games I've played in the last few years.

I own both an X-Box and a Gamecube.

In the X-Box's favor you have the DVD player (you'll need a remote) and the hard drive, which'll save you $$$ on memory cards.

On the other hand, there aren't many X-Box exclusive games that stand-out in my mind. Halo is an excellent game, and the ability to play it should definitely be a selling point of the system. Knights of the Old Republic is also an excellent game.

I like Gamecube's variety of titles better, though. You've got V.Joe, Animal Crossing, Rebel Strike, F-Zero GX, and the Zeldas.

If you like wrestling games, both platforms have very flawed WWE games that are exclusive to their system (although I prefer Raw 2 to Wrestlemania XIX, despite the 38,459 programming glitches), in addition to the Legends series. Gamecube also offers Def Jam Vendetta, which I've never played, but has gotten good reviews.

I think you'll be happy with either system.

The only reason I care about GC is Nintendo's exclusives. So I get like one game every 3 months, I beat it, then it collects dust again until the next.

Youth N Asia, I just bought a GameCube yesterday.

GET IT.

Pick up the Memory Card 251, which is $20. It saved a shitload of space. 251 "blocks". Lots of games are like 4-6 blocks, some, like LOTR: ROTK are like 12. I think Zelda is 6, etc.

HIT UP BLOCKBUSTER VIDEO, where they are selling games "buy 2, get one free" used.

I picked up Zelda: Windwaker, Star Wars Bounty Hunter, and Dead to Rights for $45, total. (Zelda $30, Dead to Rights $15, Bounty Hunter free (usually $15)).

I played Zelda and it's just....visually awesome. GameCube's controls are awesome.

Get it.:)
