Guest Ray Report post Posted December 28, 2003 Having not seen much wrestling from 1987, I ask this question: What are the best matches from that year? From anywhere, I mean. WWF, NWA, Japan, Mexico, etc... All I can think of right now are: Flair/Windham - 1/20/87 Steamboat/Savage - 3/29/87 There must be some good/great Jumbo Tsuruta matches or something from that year... TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2003 Savage/Bret - SNME Nov.87. Great match as it first showcased how awesome Bret could be. And Savage wrestles half the match with only boot on as he is selling an ankle injury. Really good match and probably Bret's best pre-singles run. Flair/Windham - 1/13/87. The match that led to the famous match. It's the one that ends in a melee and is on the Flair DVD.
Guest Report post Posted December 28, 2003 A pretty good one was at Survivor Series 87: The HART FOUNDATION, DEMOLITION, the Dream Team, The Islanders and the Bolsheviks against Strike Force, The Young Stallions, The British Bulldogs, the Rougeaus and the Killer Bees. On video its 31 minutes but the unclipped version is something like 48 minutes.
Guest dwdw_IGN Report post Posted December 28, 2003 Ric Flair v. Barry Windham from Crocket Cup '87. The 2 Wargames matches that were on the Great American Bash '87 tape.
Guest Ray Report post Posted December 28, 2003 Savage/Bret - SNME Nov.87. I think I have this on a Hart Foundation comp. It's lost in my giant stack of tapes though.

Try to look for it. It's well worth seeking out. Savage was SO awesome back then, and Bret was no slouch himself. Plus Jesse's commentary is brilliant as he's heelish but puts over both men despite Vince rambling on about Hogan.
DMann2003 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2003 While not a GREAT match, Savage vs Honky Tonk Man from SNME Oct of '87 is memorable.
Guest krazykat72 Report post Posted December 28, 2003 The Flair/Windham crockett Cup match is one of my favorite matches ever. Savage/Hart was excellent Savage/Steamboat, well, nothing more really needs to be said Wargames was great There was a really good Bulldogs/Harts 2/3 Falls match on SNME during this period too. Those are probably the peak US matches for that year -paul jacobi-
Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 For me,I'd have to throw Garvin's win over Flair for the NWA title on the list. But I'm biased because I was 2nd row for it and it was pretty exciting at the time to get to see a NWA world title change in Detroit.
