WWE - Positives of 2003

Recommended Posts

Guest edge007

I can think of a few...

- Benoit (form throughout the year)

-Jericho (his workrate and everything, his match with Michaels at WM was awesome)

-The Rock (putting people over left, right and centre)

Post ideas, opinions and stuff.

Though people may disagree with me...S.H.I.T. segments have me laughing.

Molly dominating the latter half of 2003 as Women's Champion.

And the Ric Flair post match tribute the night he fought Trips for the title.

Rock/Hurricane made RAW hilarious for a few weeks in Feb-March.

The Scorpion Kings gonna use his X-Ray vision, Night Vision, Heat Vision, Cable Vision, and his Pearl vision. What super powers does the Hurricane have? huh? Hamburglar! You gonig to throw chicken mcnuggets at The Rock? You gonna hit the Rock in the head with a cheese-burger?

Benoit-Angle

The emergence of John Cena as a potential future player

TWGTT emerging as the best tag team in NA

The other things just create more negatives:

- Jericho carries Raw

-Result: nothing to show for it

- Eddie Guerrero on fire with fans

-Result: Chavo comes back so they push him back down

I've really enjoyed HBK all year, along with most everything else mentioned so far. I also enjoyed seeing Goldberg in WWE, even though they haven't really done well by him.

Kurt Angle vs. The Undertaker on SD was a huge positive for me, etc...

Yeah, Taker was actually in top form in 03 IMO. Cept for the stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid Taker vs. Show/Lesnar match... but his Undertauro stylings is refreshing.

The Ric Flair DVD is a big positive - not for Flair, so much, but for the fact that PEOPLE WILL BUY WRESTLING! MAKE MORE WRESTLING! USE WCW FOOTAGE! MORE! MORE! MORE!

Tazz was a brightspot in the announcers chair. Quality Work.

Tomko and Fertig - nuff sayed.

Did you notice who posted a lot in the Buffy thread and showed up in the next most recent thread?

And did you see the classification of the person who posted most in the most recent classic thread?

Therein lies the answer my friend.

Yeah, I really loved Taker all year. It almost...ALMOST, made me hope that he would just stay as his "current" character instead of going back to the Deadman gimmick.

Almost, but not quite. Nostalgia dominates it for me, I'm sorry.

I've always liked the guy, but he really seemed to work damn hard all year, I can't believe some of his work from this year.

To be fair, he also failed them.

Austin left again, at least for a while. Foley came back~! - but this will lead to the eventual reappearance of Austin, so that's not good.

And the WWE have at least given me cause to believe that at some point in the future Matt Hardy might actually get a proper push.

Really? Do tell. I don't have this belief.

Same here, I'm actually more worried about him now that he's on RAW.

In what way exactly?

WWE expecteed alot more money and exposure than what they got from Goldberg. They expect more, not really Goldberg's fault.

The man was brought in specifically to boost ratings and buyrates. He's a shithead and a poor wrestler, so there was litterally no other reason for him to be here.

He didn't quite do that. Hell, it took him six months to get people to stop booing.

It's a two way street.

If you can say that the WWE screwed Bill by not letting him totally no sell the top heels and make the midcard look worthless, than I can say he fucked them by not living up to his end of the deal, specifically at Backlash.

If you want to say

Well, Hardy's appearance on Raw takes away all remnants of the Mattitude "stable", which basically consisted of Shannon Moore messing up and CrashRIPHolly acting like a moron. So Hardy's able to start with a fresh beginning.

Unfortunately of course, he turns up as a supposed face, turns heel straight off and then moves into feud with fucking Maven.

However - at the moment, I still think that there is a chance Hardy will get pushed. The moment he jobs clean to Maven on PPV however, I will concede that he's done. No-one can take losing to OLM and the Finisherless Wonder in less than a year.

I'm not going to turn this into a Goldberg thread, yet again, just because some hate him so much they feel they must shout it out at every chance given to them.

I'll just say, as I've said all along, that from day one WWE did not give him the right program to work with. It's not just him either, it's just about everyone else in the federation. If the workers aren't inserted into a program that any amount of thought went into, then they are instantly screwed right then and there.

I could start listing mistake after mistake that WWE made this year, not only with the direction with Goldberg, but most everyone else.

Positive: WWE Top 50 Greatest Superstars of All Time Magazine.

Oh, it sucks a fat giant moose testicle, but it has a picture of Taker wearing "UFC" gloves - with UFC as the label... YEAH! That fucking rocks.

Oh yeah,

Tito Ortiz at WM was cool, even if he was in the crowd. And Chuck Liddell on Confidential was also cool, even if it was a brief clip of him at the VGA's.

Did you notice who posted a lot in the Buffy thread and showed up in the next most recent thread?

MOLE! I KNEW IT! Oh, he'll trick you into thinking he's all innocent with his answering rhetorical questions and stuff, but he's really the mastermind behind a plot to HOLD DOWN various posters on THIS BOARD - including ME! He MUST be stopped, and YOU, YOU PIN, must stop him! *Votes Pinjockey 4 Mod*
