WWE - Positives of 2003

Recommended Posts

That seems to be a running trend this year - I'd like to see how many people stopped watching this year on this board... I tried to, unsuccessfully, but I definitely see the day coming when I fully stop - since I keep watching less and less and less as the months progress.

I've pretty much stopped watching. It wasn't even a conscious decision, i just slowly stopped caring to the point that even if i do remember that Raw or Smackdown's on i'll do something else rather than watch.

I feel weird now...since I haven't stopped or even slowed down my watching.

Same here.

Good, then I'm not THAT freaky.

Vengeance rocked socks.

Eddie, Benoit, Angle, Tajiri, Brock, Haas, Benjamin, and a few others rocked on SD!.

Velocity was usually fun.

It'd be hard to tell who's stopped watching here since if they're not watching they're probably not posting much either. Someone has to go back about a year ago and see how many different names were posting here that aren't now or if there are more or less total posts in the WWE folder. On the opposite side of the fence, are there many new posters since the last year? Still, it'd be hard to count them as new fans since they were probably already fans and just happened to stumble on this site.

I stopped watching for a long while and fell back on the tapes. Six months, but I started watching it sporadically so it's not so much a habit, because I don't feel the need to watch everything now.

It's horrible! There's little distinction to it, it even looks insignificant.

I agree.

It's a oval!

WTF?

Belts are meant to be big and large looking and cover the majoriity of your abdominal region. This is short and wide. It's a frigging stubby belt.

Exactly, I don't feel the need to watch it either. If I miss a show or two, it's really no problem. I haven't watched a full episode of heat in YEARS...

I haven't sat through a whole SD! since sometime in 02.

With me, I stopped watching one show at a time until I realized I didn't watch at all. At first it's weird, it's like you think you should have it on...Monday is RAW night. Then I just got used to it and stopped caring. Now I hardly ever remember it's on. It feels good. I recomend stop watching to everyone.

I still follow it though, by reading results and this board. Maybe in a year I will be done with that and be rid of WWE period?

It looks like a "belt" - like what you would put around pants. There is little elevation to it (like a mountain), and there is no distinction to it. If I asked you to describe the IC title, what would be the first thing you say? "It's circular and has blue" in it? There is nothing memorable about it other than it has nothing memorable about it.

Let's compare it to

WCW1.jpg

Notice the bumps at the top? Notice how the middle actually stands out and extends both upwards and downwards?

I think it would take a TON of time and effort to rebuild the IC title to the point to where "doing something" with it would mean something.

Does anyone have any memories that involve this incarnation of the IC title? I don't have any. When I look at the Hogan-era WWF title (early 90's, late 80's) my mind is flooded with memories. Ditto with the old IC title (same time period).

I'd be happy if they did something with either belt. Right now though, the US belt is just a usless part of Big Show's attire and the IC belt is just another belt to show how dominate Evolution is. Which is fine and dandy, but now they have to make it seem useful.

But it's too much fun talking about the product - I enjoy talking about it more than I do watching it.

Yes, that's a big part of the problem. It's too much fun talking about wrestling if you got someone who knows even a little bit about it. There's only so much you can talk about with hockey, baseball or other sports.
