Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2004 Dan Marino's 48 TD passes in one season. Peyton Manning led the league this year. Guess how many he had? 29. Yeah, that's good -- almost 2 a game, in fact -- but Marino averaged 3 TD passes a game for the entire season. That's just insane. With defenses geared toward the pass these days, an average od 3 TD passes a game just isn't going to happen anymore. Just to say, the leader of the league *did* average 2/game, Brett Favre had 32. He now shares a record for Quarterbacks that have led the league in touchdowns for four seasons. I believe his consecutive game streak is for any player, not just quarterbacks. Johnny Unitas and his consecutive games with a TD is definitely the top one. I have to ask; I know the sack wasn't a recorded stat back in the day, but how many seasons would it have taken Deacon to actuall reach 200? Just to point out though, that he wouldn't have had NEARLY as many had they not used the earslap back then, much like today. The sack is an overrated stat, as the league lead is generally one/game. One play a game, for a play that is not really all that convincing in your favour anyway? Bah.
