LucharesuFan619 Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 From the latest Observer online update: Lucha Xtreme Wrestling debuts in Florida on 2/29 at the Raddison Mart Plaza Hotel Convention Center with Shocker vs. Angel for the LXW heavyweight title, Rising Son vs. Super Dragon and more. Rising f'n Son! Nice...Angel vs. Shocker should be fun, if done right. Angel's getting a big shot here, against Shocker, so hopefully he'll be sure to look good. I also learned that Ultimo Guerrero and Rey Bucanero will be there.

Placebo Effect Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 There HAS to be some reason why Philadelphia is suddenly getting no love from new indies. Fucking 3PW is drawing 400-600 each month now that they're back at the Arena, so there's no reason why MLW or LXW wouldn't draw well. Damn, damn, damn.
Guest bort Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Philly gets alot of love ROH, 3PW, CZW I dont think MLW could draw, many ROH workers pulled off the Philly shows and ROH co booked a show on the same day so that MLW wouldnt draw
PsychoDriver Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Well, Rising Son ain't what he used to be.. but that still should be an awesome match. Hope Florida works out better for LXW then NY did.

Hope Florida works out better for LXW then NY did. Who says their stuff in NY wasn't successful? That's how you make it sound... LXW would have a hard time getting the right to run in Viking Hall because it's owned by the Farrington's, who worked for XPW, who isn't liked by the D'Amatos, who own Viking Hall, as will be expanded upon mid next year when I post my major features on the history of ECW, Viking Hall, and XPW (I'll be posting the roots of the promotion part soon, but the part about their Philly run won't be up till mid next year)... I think I just confused myself...

I'm not sure on the second show but I remember hearing the first show had poor attendance and they must have lost alot of money on it.
r4g Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 LXW Lucha Xtreme Wrestling "The Mark of the Mask" Sunday, February 29th, 2004 Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel Convention Center 711 NW 72 Avenue Miami, Florida Lucha Xtreme Wrestling, America's Lucha Libre Wrestling League, makes its long awaited debut in the Sunshine State on Sunday, February 29th, 2004. This is LXWs' first venture out of New York since the company's inception in 2003. 2004 is without a doubt already shaping up to be the "Year of the Mask" and LXW officials have decided that to kick off the new year, February 29th's event will be appropriately called, "The Mark of the Mask". LXW is looking to make their "mark" in the wrestling world and on February 29th, at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel Convention Center, 711 NW 72 Avenue, Miami, Florida, Lucha Xtreme Wrestling will not only make their mark but will also make history by crowning the first ever, LXW Heavyweight Champion. For those new to LXW, Lucha Xtreme Wrestling has already created a buzz up north by bringing its' unique blend of styles, production and talent to the wrestling fans of New York. Now, LXW looks forward to further unleashing its' "brand" of pro wrestling upon the rest of the U.S. and the world. It will all begin on February 29th, 2004 in Miami, Florida. Lucha Xtreme Wrestling brings the traditional, Mexican "Lucha Libre" style of wrestling here to the states in a way that's only second to its homeland. LXWs' tremendous international roster includes: Shocker, Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Bucanero a.k.a. "Los Guerreros del Infierno", Halloween & Damien666 a.k.a. "Mexico's Most Wanted", Scorpio Jr., Super Dragon, Rising Son, Angel, Phoenix Star, Zokre, Scorpio Sky & Quicksilver, Supreme, Vic Grimes, Los Lunatics, and All Money I$ Legal just to name a few. On November 15th, 2003, New York fans saw "El Exotico" Angel, defeat Scorpio Jr. in an all out brawl which took them out of the ring and into a very unpredictable battle throughout the entire Amazura Ballroom in Jamaica, Queens, to advance to the finals of the LXW Heavyweight Championship tournament, but his quest for LXW gold could come up short on February 29th. That's because the one obstacle that stands between Angel and his quest for the LXW title is none other than Mexico's own, Shocker. Shocker has been making quite a name for himself as of late inside the LXW ring, which is no surprise to those who have followed Shocker's illustrious career south of the border. Shocker advanced to the finals of the tournament by defeating his long time rival, Ultimo Guerrero in the semi-finals, in what can be only described as nothing less than a classic confrontation! Can Angel fulfill his dream by becoming the first ever LXW champion or will Shocker turn Angel's dream into a nightmare. We will find out on February 29th, as SHOCKER takes on "EL EXOTICO" ANGEL to crown the first ever LXW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. Also on the card will be the rekindling of an old feud, as Rising Son takes on Super Dragon, in what could be the match of the night. To wrestling fans in Southern California, these two men locking up is nothing less than a familiar sight, but the match in Miami will be anything but familiar! The bad blood between these two stars has stretched from coast to coast and LXW couldn't think of a better place to RE-heat things up in the dead of winter than Miami, Florida. Super Dragon looks to prove to everyone that he is the top Xtreme Luchadore in LXW! He showed Taro that he is at the top of his game by taking his mask in November, now he looks to do the same to Rising Son. Unfortunately for Super Dragon, Rising Son is out to prove him wrong as he feels he is the man who will be the number one Xtreme Luchadore in 2004. Both men will have their chance on February 29th as LXW has just officially signed, RISING SON vs. SUPER DRAGON in the "BATTLE OF THE XTREME LUCHADORES"!!! More matches will be announced in the upcomin g weeks as we draw closer to this historic event and the crowning of the FIRST EVER, LXW Heavyweight Champion! Tickets for this event are priced at: Ringside=$30.00 General Admission= $20.00 VIP Packages also available Tickets can be purchased at: WWW.LXWRESTLING.COM or WWW.TICKETWEB.COM There will be a meet and greet before the event with ALL of the LXW "XTREME LUCHADORES". They will be taking pictures and signing autographs for an additional fee. Check WWW.LXWRESTLING.COM for more information on this event as well as all the latest news and happenings in LXW.
Guest Markingout Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 I need 120 bucks for MLW and LXW. Feb is going too be a hard month for this average joe. Still the event should be excellent. The talent roster is excellent coming up at this show. Any show with Super Dragon and Shocker is okay in my book
Placebo Effect Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Who says their stuff in NY wasn't successful? That's how you make it sound... They flew out, what, fifteen guys for their first show only to end up with 80 people in the crowd? Plus, I believe they've yet to manage to put out a video of the show. And I have a hard time believe they'll be getting any XPW-like coverage when it comes to their DVDs.
Guest Markingout Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 LXW would have a hard time getting the right to run in Viking Hall because it's owned by the Farrington's. "Lucha Xtreme Wrestling (LXW) is a New York based privately run company. LXW was founded by the brother team of Kirk "Slash" Farrington and Glenn Farrington." From the LXW website. LOL.
