Guest Frank Grimes Report post Posted January 8, 2004 THE LATEST VERSION Jan. 5, 2004 Hello again! Welcome to the special holiday edition of the Latest Version, where I would like to begin today’s festivities by wishing everyone Happy New Year. I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is now ready for a productive 2004. I certainly am. This year, I actually saw more of my family and friends than I ever have at Christmastime. I was able to have dinner on Christmas Eve with my family on my mother’s side, and then visit my grandmother that night. On Christmas, I spent the day with my dad, and was able to have lunch with him and Jeff. For all those wondering, Jeff’s wacky Christmas present to me this year was a 15-foot-tall handmade V1 hand sign. My brother secretly practices Mattitude, I don’t care what anyone says. The day after Christmas also had me seeing several people I hadn’t seen in a while. I had a great time at Hermie Sadler’s Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 27. Myself, the Hurricane and our dates, along with Shannon Moore, attended this holiday gathering. Hermie and his brother are both NASCAR drivers and really know how to throw a good party. A couple of our colleagues, the world-famous Hebner brothers, were also present. I also ran into former WWE star, Jeff Jarrett, who I hadn’t seen in years. I was one of five people who shut the party down at 5:15 a.m.– could be a sign of things to come … The highlight of my Christmas week, though, was definitely the first-annual Matt Hardy Christmas Party. On Tuesday, Dec. 23, I had an exclusive list of friends over to celebrate the year. It was the most people I’ve had in my new house, and, fortunately, it didn’t get trashed. It was so great to get all my boys and friends together and get the chance to hang, relax, reminisce and cut up. A good time was had by all, although a couple of people probably weren’t having such a good time when they woke up the next morning. Who was the last person to leave? Shannon Moore, along with his driver Brian Decker, at around 5 a.m. On New Year’s Eve, V1 and his girl, Shannon, Scott Matthews, Aaron Decker, and several others made the 140-mile drive down to Myrtle Beach. We had Mexican that night (yes, and that included guacamole; Matt loves guac), and headed over to Broadway at the Beach to bring in 2004. Everyone had a blast and brought in the New Year with a bang. Everybody left Broadway around 3 and went to eat at a jam-packed pancake house. The pancakes that I ate about 3:30 were some of the best I’ve ever had. We returned to our three-room hotel suite and continued the celebration there. Quite a few of us stayed up to see the sunrise on the beach, and then people started dropping quickly. Who was the last to go to bed? Matt Hardy, around 8 a.m. As many of you know, the "Cleansing" takes place at the beginning of the year for me. For all of you who are unfamiliar with the "Cleansing," let me briefly explain. It’s when my core group of friends and I get together and talk about the good and bad of the previous year for each of us. We do this around a small fire and then burn away our previous year with a symbolic log. Each of us then make goals for the upcoming year and talk about what they want to achieve in the future. My aspirations for the upcoming future seemed to throw most of the guys for a loop this year. I think you’d be surprised as well. We’ll see how well I fare next year at this time ... I was very proud of all the WWE Superstars who went to Baghdad to entertain the troops. I thought that it was a very uplifting experience for our hard-working men and women in Iraq. Watching that episode of SmackDown! made me want to be there to contribute to such a great cause. Awesome job by all involved. Lastly, I want to thank all of the MF’ing fans who have so faithfully stood by me this past year. The year has had its ups and its downs, but the most important thing is that I’m still fighting forward. You have to always try to remember, "It’s not if you win or lose, it’s how you entertain". My goal is for people to be entertained and have fun while watching me, whether it’s for 30 seconds or 30 minutes. I hope that my passion and desire to be the best I can be will inspire others to do the same. By doing so, you help me spread the good word of Mattitude. Matt and the MFers, me and you, or us – however you want to say it – we will grow stronger in 2004. And no one or nothing can stop THE POWER OF US! Guest Korgath Report post Posted January 8, 2004 "V1 and his girl?" Note, he didn't say Lita or Amy Well, he did say "V1 and his girl, Shannon". I guess that explains a lot.
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 I think this might be an attempt at some sort of kayfabe. After all, if he's just "dumped" Lita on Raw and the WWE are trying to bring back some vague form of kayfabe, having a commentary written by a wrestler on the home site saying that he's blatantly still with the person he supposedly dumped... you get the idea. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 This commentary proves one thing to me that I always knew. Jeff Hardy is mentally challenged.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 I like how he noted he and Helms were there with "their girls", then noted Shannon was also there. Since Matt's girl is Lita, I can only assume Hurricane's girl is Moore. They are gay, right?
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 Shannon is married (to a woman).

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2004 I'm pretty sure Helms mentioned attending Shannon's wedding in one of his commentaries.
